The 31-year-old said preparing food in such a way "was completely normal", adding that she is "definitely not squeamish".

It's that time of year again - The Great British Bake Off will be returning to our screens next Wednesday.

Last year, Luton's Nadiya Hussain won the competition, but can Bedfordshire's Candice Brown do the same and make it a second win for the county?

    Candice Brown

The 31-year-old was inspired to bake by her grandmother and hopes to follow in her footsteps - aiming to be "even half the lady she was".

Candice grew up in the pubs her parents ran and now works in pastoral care and PE teaching at a secondary school.

She loves everything vintage and though she usually bakes in her PJs, she has been known to break in a new pair of heels while baking too - ooh'er!

  19. School asbestos removal petitionpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Matthew Lockwood
    BBC Three Counties Radio

The family of a former Buckinghamshire teacher is demanding that all asbestos is removed from schools, external.

The calls come after Sue Stephens, from Marlow, died in June from a type of lung cancer usually caused by asbestos exposure.

It's estimated that most schools still contain asbestos, which her husband David wants to change.

Mr Stephens said it's taken the family "a long time to accept" what happened and that "the ideal... is to get rid of asbestos" so that "other people don't have to suffer".

Sue taught in primary schools for 30 years in Buckinghamshire before she retired to Crediton in Devon with her husband.

In 2014 she was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. Her family believe she was exposed to asbestos while teaching in Bucks.

The government has told us: "Nothing is more important than the health and safety of children and staff in schools - that's why we're investing £23bn in school buildings by 2021, and continue to work with the Health and Safety Executive."

  20. How would our counties fare in the Olympic medal table?published at 13:10 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Adam Jinkerson
    BBC Local Live

    Makes you feel proud, ay...

    Mock Olympic medal table

If we count all the medals competitors from Beds, Herts and Bucks have won at Rio so far, the region would stand 13th in the current table, just pipping Essex in 14th. That's above the likes of Spain, New Zealand and hosts Brazil.

OK, OK - some of you may have noticed we've popped Hemel and Basildon's Max Whitlock as golds under both. We'll leave it to you to scrap for who claims our great gymnast.
