The main story we've been following for the past few hours has been the planned crash of the Rosetta space probe that was built in Stevenage.
The loss of signal, when it happened, was greeted by muted cheers and handshakes in Hertfordshire and in Mission Control in Germany.
You can read the full report here.
The first congratulatory message may have been in English, but the European Space Agency is tweeting "mission complete" in an array of languages from member nations.

That's it. Rosetta has done its job and has now crashed.
It was of course built in Stevenage at Airbus Defence and Space where I am currently live on Facebook, external - just click the link to watch.
The mission's Twitter account tweets its success with an illustration - that's a fairy tale Rosetta holds for reading material, titled "once upon a time...".

It's official. The Stevenage-built Rosetta probe has ended its mission to Comet 67P by crash-landing onto the icy object's surface.
Mission control in Darmstadt, Germany, was able to confirm the impact had occurred when radio contact to the ageing spacecraft was lost abruptly.
The assumption is that the probe would have been damaged beyond use.

Officials are awaiting confirmation of the Rosetta probe's collision into a 4km-wide ball of ice and dust.
The spacecraft should already have hit its target, but confirmation should be received in the next few minutes.
It is sending back pictures as it edges closer to Comet 67P.
European Space Agency scientists say the satellite has come to the end of its useful life and they want to get some final, ultra-close measurements.

I'm currently in Stevenage at Airbus Defence and Space where the Rosetta probe was built.
Staff have gathered to watch the craft crash, now it's completed its mission.
We won't see or know the full impact of the collision for a short while as it's billions of kilometres away. But we'll bring you news when we get it.
The small marker in the bottom right of this photo marks Rosetta's final resting place, if all goes to plan.
Rosetta should have hit the comet, according to space controllers.
We should get confirmation within an hour.

Residents in Stoney Grove in Chesham have been telling me they are in "shock" after the body of a woman was found in a house in the road.
Susan Cook lives next door to the victim and told me she was a good, nice neighbour "who would do anything for you".
"When I broke my wrist recently, she came around with flowers," she said.
"It's a terrible thing that has happened".
Talvinder Digwa also lives close by. "You don't expect it to happen on your doorstep," she said.

After the conviction of David Cowell, senior investigating officer Graeme Hughes, external, from Thames Valley Police, said: "Riley had been sitting cross-legged, playing with a ball and talking to a young friend on the driveway his family shared with Cowell.
"Cowell entered the driveway in his vehicle and through his inattention and carelessness, had failed to see Riley and collided with him.
"This is a tragic case which shows what can happen even at relatively low speeds, if you are behind the wheel of a vehicle and not paying full attention. Cowell had clearly not been paying attention.
"I hope this conviction can help the family bring some sense of closure to what must be the most incredibly painful chapter of their lives."
