  1. Calm down everybody... the Singhbury's sign will returnpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 17 October 2016

    Matthew Lockwood
    BBC Three Counties Radio

Earlier this year, a shopkeeper in Aylesbury raised a few eyebrows when he put a sign up on his Singhbury's Local shop, external, which had similar branding to Sainbury's.

    Singhbury's Local

The owner said it was nothing to do with the large supermarket chain - Singh is after his name, the bury is after Aylesbury and the orange colour relates to their Sikh religion. But at the time there was speculation the bigger company might complain.

So, when the sign recently disappeared, there was some suspicion the shop had been made to take it down... with journalists poised to write the story.

But I've just been talking to the owner, Inderjit Singh Nagpal, who's clarified the situation and we can all stand down.

He said the signage had to be temporarily removed, not because the company had been in touch, but because of a much larger force - the weather.

Water has got into the sign and it is currently being repaired.

Mr Nagpal says the signage should be re-installed later this week.
