    A street preacher has been charged after allegedly shouting at a woman "for wearing tight jeans" and swearing, say police.

    Krissoni Henderson, 31, was arrested earlier this month after a 38-year-old woman said she feared for her safety, external after a verbal confrontation on New Street in Birmingham.

    He has been charged with using insulting, threatening words or behaviour and using racially aggravated insulting words and will appear before magistrates on 6 September.

    Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has announced his retirement from international football aged 40.

    The Stoke City keeper, formerly of Aston Villa, Newcastle, Celtic and Blackburn Rovers, won 134 caps over 20 years and was part of the Republic's Euro 2016 squad.

    Announcing his decision on social media on Thursday, the Donegal native wrote: "I was one of the lucky ones... but now it is time to hang up the gloves."

    He is set to continue his club career with Stoke.

    Jess Phillips changed the locks at home as the death of fellow MP Jo Cox had convinced not to be so "cavalier" about safety she said.

    She told me she suffered an "awful lot of hatred and vitriol" and it was "time consuming and depressing cataloguing it all".

    By standing up to abuse, she felt "she got more" but suspected it was a similar situation for other MPs, including her colleagues in Birmingham.

    The Birmingham Yardley MP said she would be passing the mocked up picture of her dying onto a police officer she had been in touch with today.

    MP Jess Phillips has tweeted she has had to change the locks on the doors of her home after receiving a "mocked up picture of her dying".

    The Birmingham Yardley MP has previously said she received 600 rape threats to her Twitter account from internet trolls in one night.

    West Midlands Police said it had not yet received a report about the picture.
