    A Black Country businessman has told BBC WM he wants to build a cheap car park near Russell Halls Hospital in Dudley. 

    Roy Richardson who built the Merry Hill Centre with his brother in the 1980s says it would work because the hospital car park is too expensive. 

    He would have to apply for planning permission, but says he is serious about the proposal.

    A 34-year-old man has been arrested suspicion of murder, kidnap and robbery after a 19-year-old died from from head and chest injuries last month

    Kaydel Williams from Tipton was pronounced dead at the scene after police said he had been bundled into a car at The Gardens, Erdington.

    Footage of a safe containing "thousands of pounds" which was "ripped out of a wardrobe and stolen" has been released by the police.

    West Midlands Police say , externalthe thieves climbed onto a flat roof and smashed an upstairs window in order to get to the safe.

    The break-in happened on Lyndon Close in Castle Bromwich on 2 November. 

    The CCTV footage shows two men, thought to be the suspects, walking down the road before leaving 45 minutes later wheeling a suitcase.

  12. Wolverhampton one of eight authorities granted casino licencepublished at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2016

    The £7.6m casino that will open this weekend in Wolverhampton is one of a handful allowed by the government. 

    The council was one of eight authorities granted a licence for a "small casino" back in May 2008.

    Under the terms of the licence, Casino 36 will contribute £36,000 towards counselling programmes for problem gamblers and their families. 

    The casino, on Temple Street, will create 100 jobs, according to Wolverhampton Council.

    Baggies winger James McClean's prospects of playing in the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier in Austria on Saturday have improved.

    After missing Tuesday's session because of a back problem, McClean trained today alone under the supervision of a fitness coach.

    McClean could be an option for a striker's role, with Shane Long missing.

  16. Woman facing third liver transplant offered 'life-saving' new treatmentpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2016

    A woman who is awaiting her third liver transplant in five years is set to undergo a pioneering stem cell transplant at a Birmingham hospital, in a bid to save her life. 

    Alex Keel, who's 29, suffers from a deadly liver condition which can often be cured through a transplant.

    Two donor organs have been rejected by her body and doctors have said it is unlikely she will be offered another one if the current one fails. 

    Doctors at Birmingham's QE hospital are now looking at a stem cell transplant as a way of protecting a new liver from being damaged by her own immune system, if a third transplant gets the go-ahead.

    She will be the first patient in the UK to undergo such treatment.

    The council has asked for volunteers to help get rid of litter in areas of Birmingham,.

    A casino is to opens its doors in Wolverhampton this weekend. 

    The £7.6m project has seen The Rubicon Casino in Temple Street expand into the neighbouring building. 

    Wolverhampton Council says it will bring an extra 100 jobs to the city.
