    The BBC Listen Up bus is on tour in the West Midlands this week ahead of next month's Metro Mayor election. 

    Today we're speaking to commuters in Wolverhampton as one of the key things the elected Mayor will oversee is the transport network.

    Catrin Williams commutes from London to Wolverhampton twice a week and thinks there could be improvements made to rail apps. 

    She said apps can be inaccurate in registering delays and platform numbers.

    Staffordshire Police say it happened on Friday evening on Abbey Road, Tamworth. 

    Officers say the 53-year-old man needed hospital treatment for serious injuries to his face.

    Dusty took to the field last week in the Evo-Stik Premier League clash between Halesowen Town and Skelmersdale United FC.

    It was especially embarrassing for defender Asa Charlton - Dusty is his pet. 

    He's taking him to training school in Kenilworth to try to avoid future incidents.

  6. The 'pot belly' bogus policemanpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 10 April 2017

    A police force hunting a man believed to be behind 13 distraction burglaries while posing as a police officer says his victims mention a "large pot belly".

    The description has been issued by West Midlands Police after elderly people across the region were targeted by a con man who used fake ID to dupe his way into their homes, claiming he needed their properties as a lookout.

    Police have released CCTV footage of a man to whom they wish to speak in connection with the investigation.

    Pensioners - in Coventry, Birmingham and Sandwell - lost cash, jewellery and credit cards.

  8. Viral photo woman 'did not interrupt minute's silence'published at 12:27 British Summer Time 10 April 2017

    A woman who was pictured smiling at an English Defence League (EDL) protester in Birmingham denies interrupting a minute's silence for terror attack victims. 

    The image of Saffiyah Khan - who said she was defending a "fellow Brummie" being shouted at -  went viral

    EDL supporters claimed on Facebook that Ms Khan had been part of a group that had interrupted a minute's silence in memory of the Stockholm terror attack victims.  

    Ms Khan told the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme she "would like to make it very clear" she would never interrupt a formal moment of reflection.

    She said that despite her smile in the image, the discourse with the man with whom she's pictured "wasn't a pleasant interaction".

    "It seemed more important to smile than to shout," she said. "It's a really important message."

    Ms Khan said she had been shouting earlier as she was angry at EDL's ideology. 

  9. Delays warning for big Easter getawaypublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 10 April 2017

    More than 20 million cars are expected to be on the  roads and more than 200 rail engineering works are taking place over Easter.

    The busiest day for the great getaway will be Thursday, with drivers being warned some journeys could take 90 minutes longer than usual.

    The M5 around Droitwich is expected to be one of the longest stretches of roadworks in the country staying in place over Easter.

    Altogether, 35 sets of roadworks, 2% of the total, will be left in place over Easter, which Highways England said were mainly road widening or managed motorway schemes

    Ahead of the vote for West Midlands Metro Mayor, the BBC Listen Up bus has been in Wolverhampton to gauge voter views on public transport.  

    Christelle, who lives in the city, told me she would like to hear music on trains - and get free coffee.  

    That's because she finds some of her fellow passengers grumpy. She doesn't find things too busy, though, and can get a seat.

    A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was stabbed at a tram stop in Birmingham last month. 

    Alaeldein Ahmed, 26, of Eva Road, Winson Green, appeared before magistrates in the city. 

    With the help of an interpreter he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address. 

    He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday. 

    Anthony Banting, 57, from Sparkhill was stabbed multiple times shortly after leaving a tram at the Soho Benson Road stop in Winson Green.

    Birmingham City says it is not lining up a new manager to replace Gianfranco Zola.

    In a statement on its website, external  it says the board of directors fully supports Zola - who replaced Gary Rowett in December - after recent press articles claimed the club was looking elsewhere.

    The statement said it understood "frustrations" caused by the run of poor results but added the board and all departments were "keeping united and standing alongside Gianfranco, his staff and the players, to try and play the kind of football every Blues supporter deserves to watch."

  18. Man dies in lorry crashpublished at 09:41 British Summer Time 10 April 2017

    A man has died and two others have been seriously injured after a crash between a car and a lorry. 

    It happened in Leamore Lane, Walsall, at 23:10 on Sunday.

    A man, who was in the car, was found by ambulance staff to be in cardiac arrest and confirmed dead at the scene.  

    An ambulance service spokesperson said the hurt pair, who were also in the car, suffered multiple injures. 

    No-one in the other vehicle was hurt.

    There's just under a month until the West Midlands elects its first Metro Mayor and ahead of the vote, the BBC Listen Up bus is going on tour to gauge your views.

    Today it's in Wolverhampton at Pipers Row until 13:00.

    I'm out asking people about public transport - whoever's elected will control a £1.1bn investment fund and have powers over how transport is run.

    The metro mayor will represent Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, and Wolverhampton.  

    The bus visits Sandwell Park Farm at Sandwell Valley Country Park on Tuesday between 10:00 and 16:00.
