An Islamic State recruiter who helped two British would-be jihadis in their attempt to join fighters in Syria is facing years behind bars.
Iraqi Kurd Awat Hamasalih, 35, came to the UK in 2002, became a British citizen in 2008 then went on to launch an "active and committed" campaign for IS from his home in Birmingham.
He helped the terror group through speeches, social media, crowdfunding and even tipping off an IS commander in Iraq of imminent attack.
Hamasalih was also found in possession of a military document containing information about the identities of Peshmerga fighters resisting IS expansion.
The jury found Hamasalih, of Finchley Road, Kingstanding, Birmingham, guilty by a majority of 10 to two after 15 hours' deliberation.

More than 120 waste collection jobs are being axed at Birmingham City Council, says the union Unite which estimates it amounts to a fifth of "the actual refuse collection squad".
The BBC has contacted the local authority for comment on the number quoted by the union - 122 - and the claim it is 20% of the provision.
It has so far said that it has consulted extensively on a "new waste services operating model", with "alternative employment within the council" offered for those affected. An additional £10m per year, it said, would need to be found if its proposed changes were not made to an operation it called inefficient and outdated.
Industrial action is now being considered by members of Unite which also says the jobs will go "in the next fortnight".
