    A man was killed in a stabbing in Bartley Green last night.

    West Midlands Police has launched a murder investigation.

    The ambulance service was called to Woodgate Gardens at about 22:50. There a man with stab wounds was taken to hospital where he died shortly afterwards.

    A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody, police say.

  3. Cannabis team helps deliver babypublished at 08:50 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    A police drugs team dealt with an unusual case yesterday - they delivered a baby.

    Mike Hall and two colleagues from West Midlands Police's cannabis team were flagged down by a driver in Hickman Avenue, Wolverhampton, at about 15:30 on Monday.

    The passenger was in labour and Mr Hall helped deliver a baby girl.

    Paramedics arrived soon after, the force said, with the mother and baby taken to hospital to be checked over.

    A speeding driver who caused fatal injuries to a 75-year-old woman when he smashed into her car has been jailed for five years and four months.

    James Mills, 23, was travelling at more than 70mph along Pedmore Road, Brierley Hill - a 40mph zone - when the crash happened last February. Police say he had been trying to lure another motorist into a street race.
