  14. Cats die from antifreeze poisoningpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

Two cats have died after being poisoned with anti-freeze in a village.

They both died earlier this month after ingesting the substance near Van Diemans Road in Wombourne, Staffordshire, near Wolverhampton.

The RSPCA says it doesn't know whether the animals were deliberately poisoned but is asking owners to look out for symptoms, which include vomiting, sleepiness, uncoordinated movement and/or difficulty breathing.

    Quote Message

At the moment we would advise everyone in the area to keep an eye on their cats’ wellbeing and if they are showing symptoms of poisoning get them veterinary treatment immediately. At this stage we do not know if these were accidental incidents or deliberate but we would ask for people to check where they keep their pesticides and chemicals including antifreeze and make sure it is secure and out of the way of cats."
