Three Chinese bowls - no bigger than cereal bowls - have sold for £62,000 at auction - over £60,000 more than they were expected to go for.
The owner, who wishes to remain anonymous but is from Lichfield and in her 60s, has said she may now retire.
They were probably bought for no more than £1 each from a junk shop in Hyson Green, Nottingham, in the 1950s or 1960s, she said.
“I was told my father had a good eye for Chinese porcelain. I knew he read up on it."
Hansons Auctioneers in Etwall, Derbyshire, said they were purchased this week by Chinese buyers, smashing their estimates of between £500 and £800 each.
“I just can’t believe people would pay that amount of money for them, but I think it’s nice they are going back to China," said the owner.
"I may just retire."
