    Tomorrow's planned 24-hour strike on the West Coast mainline has been called off.

    Staff were due to stage a series of walkouts in a dispute over pay, but Virgin Trains announced that industrial action affecting services had been called off.

    The company says it's now planning to run a full timetable, but there may be some cancellations or amendments to services.

    The company is still advising passengers to travel as early as possible with the Christmas getaway looming.

    We asked you what could be done to get more visitors coming to Shrewsbury's castle and plenty of you had ideas on the BBC Shropshire Facebook page.

    It's because the Shropshire Regimental Museum, which is based at the site, is looking to attract more customers after losing government funding.

    On Facebook, Catriona Mcallister-Rees posted, external: "Medieval fayres, crafts and local food events in the grounds. Have an annual summer picnic with music or a play. Have a day of learning early crafts or how to sword fight, with wooden ones of course. I have a huge list in my head!"

    Tracy Bennett added, external: "How about re-enactment events, falconry displays, have-a-go archery, outdoor cinema etc."

    Steve Taylor had this to say, external: "In the summer, they could reintroduce the kind of music events that used to happen once a year in the 1990s on a more regular basis."

    And Liam Edwards wrote, external: "We got married here, they should really advertise the weddings."

    The company based at Westwood Business Park is the UK's largest energy supplier outside the big six.

    Dudley in the West Midlands is named as one of the authorities with a decreasing number of such high-performing schools, which are clustered in the North and Midlands.

    The report picks up on concerns about social mobility now being increasingly affected by where families live - with disadvantaged youngsters in London having a much better chance of going to good schools than similarly deprived pupils in other parts of the country.

    The MP for Shrewsbury and Atcham Daniel Kawczynski says he hope an investigation into allegations about his behaviour is concluded "as quickly as possible".

    He's been referred to the party's internal disciplinary committee following media reports that he tried to set up a date between a visitor and a Commons researcher.

    Mr Kawczynski has already said there was no impropriety, saying he asked the woman to have coffee with a friend, she said no and that was the end of it.

    A man from Dudley has been cleared of attempted murder following an incident in Worcester.

    Ethan Bell-Milne, 19, from Himley Street, Dudley was on trial accused of that offence as well as wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

    The jury at Worcester Crown Court today delivered not guilty verdicts on all charges.

    There are still delays of about two hours after a crash on the M6 northbound in Cheshire.

    A lorry and a car were involved in a collision at J19, A556 for Knutsford, with congestion back to J17, A534 for Sandbach.

    All lanes have reopened but Highways England says it will take some time for congestion to clear.
