    Seven people have been rescued from a house fire on Handsworth New Road, Winson Green.

    West Midlands Fire said the two adults and five children were checked by paramedics and fire crews are damping down.

    The Brewers are on the brink of being relegated back to League One after last night's 5-0 defeat by Hull City left them bottom-of-the-table.

    Burton, who were promoted to the Championship in 2016, are seven points from safety with just four games remaining of the season.

    Ofgem has launched an investigation into Coventry-based gas network distribution company Cadent.

    It will look into questions the company failed to keep records of gas pipes (risers) in some blocks of flats that are part of its network.

    The energy regulator said it will investigate whether the company maintains an efficient and economical pipeline system.

    Cadent owns, operates and maintains gas pipes in England. It owns four of the eight regional distribution networks in the West Midlands, North West, East of England and North London.

    Satnam Rana, 40, BBC Midlands Today's arts and culture reporter has shared an update with viewers about her progress after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

    Satnam underwent surgery in October following the discovery of a lump.

    She documented her diagnosis in video diaries and led a social media campaign calling on women to "#checkthemout".

    She said: "Overall it's all positive. I’m learning to live 'in the now'."

    Seven more families of Syrian refugees have been given new homes in Staffordshire., external

    The county council says they've been settled in areas around Lichfield, the Staffordshire Moorlands and in the east of the county.

    It's part of the government's pledge to resettle 20,000 refugees from the Syrian war in the UK by 2020.

    In Staffordshire, the council agreed to take 51 in 2016/17 and another 50 last year.

  17. £10,000 reward for information on murder and disappearancepublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 11 April 2018

    A £10,000 reward is being offered by the charity Crimestoppers, external to find those responsible for a murder in Coventry.

    Daniel Shaw, 28, from Torrington Avenue in Tile Hill was shot and killed on 25 March.

    He was found in Copland Place, Tile Hill and pronounced dead at the scene as a result of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

    The money's also being offered to information in finding John Robbins, 33.

    Police think the two might be linked and Crimestoppers said they think Mr Robbins might also have been murdered.
