    City council planners approved knocking down the Sansome Walk site in Worcester which has been empty since 16 December.

    Demolition experts now have until 18 June to bid for the work and the authority says no decision's been made on what will replace it.

    A man has been charged with attempted rape , externalafter awoman was attacked in an alleyway in Telford.

    The incident took place early on Saturday morning near Charlecote Park, police say.

    They add that the victim, a 40-year-old woman, suffered cuts and bruises.

    A 19-year-old man from Hadley has been charged with attempted rape and causing actual bodily harm.

    A 27-year-old man who was arrested has been released and won't face any further action.

  15. Williams and Walliams team up for RSC adaptationpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 25 May 2018

    The RSC has confirmed that Robbie Williams and his songwriting pal Guy Chambers are working with David Walliams on a new adaptation of his book The Boy in the Dress.

    The story was first reported in the Daily Mail, external, with the suggestion that the new version would be directed by the RSC's artistic chief Greg Doran for Christmas 2019.

    In a statement, the RSC said: "We are developing projects all the time and are very excited to be collaborating with David Walliams, Mark Ravenhill, Guy Chambers and Robbie Williams on a new adaptation of The Boy in the Dress.

    "It is still early days, and we look forward to making an announcement early next year."

    The book was adapted for TV by the BBC in 2014, starring Jennifer Saunders, Meera Syal and The Inbetweeners' James Buckley.

    The biggest fish pass in Europe will soon be built in Worcester,, external after planning permission was granted for an 80m (262ft) structure.

    The aim of the concrete channel at Diglis Weir, proposed by the Canal and Rivers Trust, is to help rare fish like shad and salmon to make their way up the River Severn to Welshpool to breed.

    The pass will essentially be a tunnel filled with water alongside the river, bypassing the weir and will feature an underwater viewing gallery.

    A mother from Stoke-on-Trent says she was "fuming" after turning up to the first night of Ed Sheeran's UK tour on Thursday to discover tickets for her daughter's birthday were invalid.

    On Tuesday, Sheeran's promoters said they had cancelled all tickets bought on Viagogo in a crackdown on touting.

    Many affected fans in Manchester were not aware and were told to buy new face-value tickets in order to get in, before seeking a refund from Viagogo.

    Asked for a response to this story, Viagogo directed the BBC to the FAQ section of its website, where it protests against concert promoters who deny entry to fans using resold tickets.

    With thousands of football supporters due to head to Wembley this weekend, Network Rail is warning of engineering works between Birmingham and Coventry.

    Tomorrow, Villa play Fulham in the Championship play-off final, while Shrewsbury take on Rotherham on Sunday in the League One event and Coventry are in action on Monday.

    Network Rail says there'll be work at Birmingham New Street all day on Saturday, external and between the station and Coventry every day until Monday inclusive, meaning no trains between the two stations for the whole weekend, external.
