Concerns have been raised about how to keep on top of the increasing numbers of children who are being home-schooled in Solihull.

The number of borough youngsters being taught at home is understood to have increased by almost 90% over the course of three years, mirroring the national trend.
Mental health issues, religious background or an attempt to avoid a pupil being excluded are some of the reasons cited for the increase.
At a meeting, Councillor Ken Meeson said the local authority could prove support but acknowledged that there were concerns about the action that could be taken in the event that education was deemed inadequate.
