    A property in Sutton Coldfield is being searched in connection with the missing estate agent Suzy Lamplugh.

    The 25 year-old disappeared in July 1986 after going to meet a client in Fulham, south-west London.

    The Metropolitan Police has confirmed premises in Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham are being searched.

    No-one has ever been charged in connection with Miss Lamplugh's disappearance, but in 2002 police named the convicted killer John Cannan as their prime suspect.

    The Met has refused to comment on "speculation surrounding the search", after the Sun reported , externalofficers are digging in the back garden of a property which used to belong to Cannan's mother.

    Ambulance bosses are predicting an extra three ambulances will be needed per night to handle longer trips, if the planned overnight closure of Telford's A&E goes ahead.

    Last week, the trust in charge of the hospital confirmed that - subject to final approval - the closure will happen from 5 December in a bid to ensure patient safety.

    This week, West Midlands Ambulance NHS Service Foundation Trust's board meets and a report before them, external says most patients during the closure would be taken to the New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.

    "A small number" would instead go to the Royal Shrewsbury and Royal Stoke hospitals instead.

    At the moment, the report before the board says their modelling of what would happen suggests they need an extra three ambulances overnight.

    Money's going to be spent on three parts of Worcestershire to try to prevent flooding through natural methods., external

    The county council says it's getting £500,000 to try and hold water back in upstream areas, slowing down its flow and thus cutting the risk of flooding downstream.

    They say they'll be looking at using natural methods such as planting trees on steep slopes to catch surface water and fencing to stop livestock getting into rivers and streams.

    The three areas are Dowles Brook in the Wyre Forest, Barbourne Brook in Worcester city and a cluster of River Avon tributaries, which includes the Badsey Brook, Merry Brook and the River Isbourne.

    The chancellor's been criticised for a "missed opportunity" in his Budget not to guarantee extra funding for police forces.

    Philip Hammond delivered his third Budget as chancellor today and did announce an extra £160m for counter-terrorism police.

    But there was no specific mention of extra money towards police budgets, just the chancellor saying the government would take further steps to support the police. , external

    That's led to the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson calling the lack of more cash , externala "huge blow" given what he called an "alarming rise" in crime.

    Earlier this month, the force's chief constable said new pension changes would cost them more than £20m or the equivalent of "almost 500 officers".

    Police say the victim, aged in her 60s, is in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after the collision on Alcester Road, Hollywood, Birmingham on Friday night.

    The driver, a 31-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving.

    A 21-year old man was arrested for breaching an injunction in relation to car cruising in Solihull.

    Groups of up to 100 cars were dispersed and two stolen vehicles recovered in Solihull on Sunday evening, West Midlands Police said.

    A High Court order bans people from taking part in car cruising, including speeding, racing and driving in convoy.

    The couple were leaving the White Hart pub on Gressel Lane, Kitts Green, Birmingham, last night when police say they were hit by gunfire.

    Officers say they were taken to hospital and the woman's still there getting treatment for injuries to her face, while the man was discharged after being treated for stomach injuries.

    They add that the offenders fled on foot.

    The man in charge of a takeaway in Telford, which is accused of keeping food in a dirty condition, has denied breaching hygiene laws.

    Hilal Ali, of Mint Indian Takeaway in Trench, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court on behalf of the firm, which is charged with breaking a number of food safety and hygiene regulations.

    They include leaving cigarette ends and ash above open bags of flour, a dirty litter tray in a food storage area and allowing a cat to roam.

    Mr Ali pleaded not guilty to all the charges and elected for a crown court hearing, which will take place in Shrewsbury on 26 November.

    Millions of pounds is being promised by the chancellor in his Budget to improve transport links in the West Midlands and support Coventry's role as UK City of Culture.

    Philip Hammond has been addressing MPs this afternoon about the state of the economy and his party's plans for the next year.

    For the West Midlands, he says the West Midlands Combined Authority will get £71.5m to improve inter-city transport links.

    There's also £20m for the region to develop a "Future Mobility Zone", including self-driving buses and e-bikes, and £8.5m to back Coventry as UK City of Culture 2021.

    The Face of Suffrage installation will be a giant photo mosaic celebrating a hundred years since some women got the right to vote.

    More than 3,000 photos are expected to be used in the 20m (66ft) tall work revealing the identity of an "inspiring" suffragette from the West Midlands.

    Photographs can be submitted, external until 31 October.

    It's due to be unveiled on the concourse at Birmingham New Street Station on 15 November.
