    A road in Stoke-on-Trent's likely to reopen after a railway bridge was struck by a lorry.

    The vehicle then shed a load of concrete panels on the A5006 Stoke Road at the junction of Station Road and Shelton Old Road. , external

    Staffordshire Police says it's likely to reopen later but it could have been shut for longer but for an anti-crash barrier on the bridge.

    The anti-crash beam has been hit, this is the second time it's been hit but, because of that, it's not caused any damage to the bridge. If the bridge had been damaged, the road would have been closed for a very long time so it has done its job."

    A 16-year-old boy continues to be questioned by police in connection with a serious assault.

    A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed twice shortly after 22:00 on Saturday in Carron Street, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.

    A second 16-year-old, arrested in the early hours of Sunday, has been released under investigation, police said.

    A second man and a woman were also injured in the attack but did not require hospital treatment.

    An unconscious cat was revived with oxygen after it was rescued from a house fire in Dudley.

    Firefighters got the grey cat, named Bella, from the house in Goldencross Way, Brierley Hill on Saturday, and gave her oxygen to help her regain consciousness.

    Stourbridge Fire tweeted, external the "lucky" cat had "used up a couple of her lives" after the incident.

    "Oxygen and TLC helped Bella regain consciousness,” they said.

    Their This House Is Not For Sale tour, their first in six years, will arrive at the arena on 23 June

    A broken rail in the Dudley Port area is causing disruption to journeys between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton, the National Rail website reports, external.

    As a result, services may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

    This is expected to continue until 09:45.

    A Birmingham university student said he was left feeling "ashamed" that he would need help for mental health problems.

    The number of students seeking mental health support while studying at university has increased by more than 50% in five years, analysis suggests.

    Christian, from the University of Birmingham, said: "Universities are just accepted by students to be a hotbed for stress and anxiety.

    "The drinking culture at university allowed me to hide away, numbing my pain and normalising being exhausted in the day and hyperactive at night."

    Ten miles of queuing traffic is being reported on the M6 southbound in Warwickshire after a crash involving a lorry and a car between J3 and J2.

    One lane is closed with traffic being delayed for up to an hour.

    There's also a breakdown in the queuing traffic before J3.

    A consultation into the future use of libraries in Worcestershire begins today.

    A scheme launched by Worcestershire County Council in 2011 has seen over £3.5m of savings made to library services.

    But changes need to continue in response to customer needs, developments in technology and new financial challenges, the council says.

    Staff have been asked if they want to take voluntary redundancy.

    A car on fire has closed the M50 eastbound in Herefordshire between J3 and J2.

    A lane of the westbound carriageway is also closed due to smoke blowing across the road, said Highways England.

    The fire service are at the scene, and delays are starting to build, it said.

    Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has stopped production at plants in the West Midlands.

    A two-week shut-down started at the Solihull plant last week and production at Castle Bromwich has also stopped due to a scheduled holiday.

    The Coventry-based car company has previously said that employees will still be paid and that customer orders won't be affected.

    Hundreds of workers at Ford's Bridgend plant who make engines for Jaguar cars are being paid to stay at home for a week.

    Fire crews remain at the scene of a serious house fire.

    Bromyard Road through Cotheridge, near Worcester, was closed for several hours on Sunday after crews were called to the site at about 20:00.

    The cause of the fire is not yet known, police say.
