    The organisers of a competition to design a flag for Herefordshire, external have arranged a series of workshops, to help get people started.

    The Herefordshire Flag Committee says the county is one of only three in England without an officially recognised flag and it is giving entrants until 15 April to submit their designs.

    Artists are being encouraged to use pride in Herefordshire as their theme and think of an image that represents the whole county.

    The workshops are taking place in Hereford; Bromyard; Ross-on-Wye; Leominster; KIngton; Ledbury; and Peterchurch between 18 February and 8 March.

    A van driver has been jailed for four months after admitting causing a cyclist's death by careless driving.

    At Worcester Crown Court, Mark Treasure, 55, from Green Lane in Bevere, Worcestershire, was also banned from driving.

    West Mercia Police said 47-year-old Anthony Ryder from Droitwich died at the scene of the collision on the A449 at Claines in December 2017.

    Shrewsbury Town manager Sam Ricketts says his team will be fit and ready to go again after its exertions in the FA Cup on Saturday.

    They came close to knocking out Premier League Wolves and Ricketts said "they put a good shift in" and added "I want them to be tired at the end of the game, because otherwise you are holding something back; that's how you should leave the pitch".

    Fresh discussions have started, with the aim of keeping a library in Church Stretton town centre.

    There was local opposition to Shropshire Council plans to move it into the town's primary school in 2015 and when the council backed down and community groups were offered the chance to make bids to run it.

    None of the community bids were judged to be suitable, so talks are now taking place between Shropshire Council, the town council and the Church Stretton Library Support Group.
