Designs revealed for prison museumpublished at 07:24 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2019
Designs have been drawn up to show how Birmingham's Victorian Lock-Up in Steelhouse Lane could look if turned into a police museum.
Funding has been awarded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to help West Midlands Police put together plans.
The displays will tell stories of prisoners and staff, including the real "peaky blinders" who were held in the building and how the original "Lock-Up matrons" from 1895 formed some of the very first women in policing.
Insp Steve Rice, who works on the WMP Heritage Project, said: "It’s exciting to see how the museum might work and the designers [Campbell and Co] have set aside plenty of space for us to host school parties, groups and maybe even a themed wedding."
