    A large Chilean Blue Eagle has escaped from a falconry centre in Shropshire and is thought to be on the loose in the Wem area.

    It's thought Paco broke free when a ring on his perch broke and the Shropshire Falcon Centre, external said he would still have his leash attached.

    Roads remain closed around the house in Rugby which collapsed earlier this week.

    The family of five who lived there have moved into emergency accommodation but have no furniture.

    The family have told me that late afternoon they would usually be preparing a meal for their children.

    They weren't at home when their kitchen collapsed, but they cannot get out of their minds how close they came to disaster.

    The collapse was completed at about 02:00 when the gable end of the property on Claremont Road fell down.

    Now charities and friends are rushing to help the family who in the past have raised tens of thousands of pounds for others.

    All lanes have now reopened on the M6 southbound near Stafford between J14 for Cresswell and J13 for Dunston.

    It was closed after a crash involving a coach and a lorry, but the coach has now been removed.

    Highways England is warning there is still heavy traffic for the time being.

    Police are hunting four masked men who forced their way into a house in Rugeley, armed with a gun and a baton last night.

    Staffordshire Police said they threatened and assaulted the people inside the property on Speechley Drive at around 22:15.

    A man and a woman have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a 33-year-old man in Bedworth on 6 May.

    The 48-year-old woman from Bedworth was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice and possession of a prohibited weapon,

    The 35-year-old man from Bedworth was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

    Both have been released on bail.

  19. 'Severe delays' on M6 after lorry and coach crashpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 13 September 2019

    There are still severe delays on the M6 southbound near Stafford, Highways England is warning.

    It is advising drivers to allow an extra 90 minutes to journey times.

    A lorry and coach were involved in a crash this afternoon between J14 and J13, leaving two lanes blocked.

    Coach passengers were treated at the scene for minor injuries and have now left on on another coach.
