    Campaigners are gathering outside an exclusion zone at Anderton Park Primary in Balsall Heath.

    That was set up after a High Court Injunction banning protests at the school gates.

    People in Leamington Spa are being asked what they would like to see built on the site of a former golf course.

    Smaller golf facilities, an adventure play area and outdoor activities including high ropes and zip wires are all being considered for the Newbold Comyn site.

    Warwickshire are pushing for a final-day win against Essex and have asked the visitors to follow on after bowling them out for 324 earlier.

  4. Sick and starving kittens dumped in parkpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 13 September 2019

    Two sick and partially blind kittens have been found dumped on parkland in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

    The RSPCA said they were found by a dog walker in Silverdale Country Park on 5 September and taken to a vet who found they'd both had cat flu and were severely dehydrated and hungry.

    The charity said they were both recovering well, but wouldn't regain their eyesight.

    The RSPCA is now trying to trace the person who left them and said "they would have suffered a lingering death as they would have starved. It must have been terrifying for them."

    Detectives no longer believe an egg-attack on a mother and baby in Worcester was racially motivated.

    The nine-month-old suffered "reddening to the face" after the incident near the Shrub Hill retail park on 2 September, and officers want to speak to the driver of this white van, which was seen in the area.

    West Mercia Police said officers changed their thinking about the motivation after a second victim had come forward to say he was also attacked with eggs while out walking his child in a pushchair a short time before.

    His 15-month-old daughter was unhurt.

    Two more people have been charged with murder, in connection with the shooting of James Teer in Erdington last month.

    West Midlands Police said the two women were arrested at separate addresses in Coventry yesterday and would appear before magistrates in Birmingham today.

    Two men, aged 18 and 19, had previously been charged with murder following the shooting of the 20-year-old in Goosemoor Lane on 8 August.

    The Tour of Britain riders have now passed the National Cyclists' Memorial in Meriden.

    The memorial, unveiled in 1921, was built to remember those cyclists who died in World War One.

    The Crewe manager David Artell says he hasn't settled on a number one goalkeeper and added: "It's up for grabs and whoever does well will get in."

    He said both Dave Richards (pictured below) and Will Jaaskelainen deserved to start against Cambridge tomorrow, after splitting the starts between them so far and he admitted "I quite like that as a manager".

    Bins are going to be set up across Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire on Monday, for people to surrender their knives.

    West Mercia Police says it's aimed at reducing the amount of knife crime, but while the knives can be left anonymously, an investigation might be carried out if they are found to have been used in a crime.

    The knife bins will be found at the Kidderminster, Worcester, Redditch, Shrewsbury, Hereford and Telford police stations.

    They will be there for one week.

  13. Daughter of Shrewsbury Town legend plans charity climbpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 13 September 2019

    The daughter of Shrewsbury Town legend Chic Bates is preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Dementia UK charity.

    He was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia and Alzheimer’s in 2013 and Llarni Bates said she had witnessed her father being "being avoided, discriminated and even made fun of because of his illness".

    Bates made nearly 300 appearances for Shrewsbury Town and scored 64 goals before becoming their manager.

    He also had a spell in charge of Stoke City.

    Llarni flies out to Tanzania to attempt the climb later this month and aims to raise £4,000 for the charity.

    Plans for the redevelopment of the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham will include reduced lighting and increased provision for cycling to help meet people's concerns, said the city council. , external

    The stadium is set to be the centerpiece of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth games, hosting the opening and closing ceremonies as well as athletics events.

    It is also seen as a key feature of the wider regeneration of Perry Barr and a consultation exercise ahead of a planning application had sought people's views on the proposals.

    Birmingham City Council said the main concerns had been around light and noise levels in the neighbouring area as well access and its future use by the community.

    The council also said it was also working on a business case to identify opportunities for the wider site for more community facilities.

    A body found at a house in Shelton, Staffordshire, on Wednesday is believed to be that of missing woman Lucy Wright.

    The 40-year-old was last seen on 5 September and while formal identification is yet to be made, officers have spoken with her family.
