    The director of a yachting management company is to go on trial later over the deaths of four sailors when the Cheeki Rafiki yacht capsized in the North Atlantic.

    Skipper Andrew Bridge, 22, from Farnham in Surrey, as well as crew members Steve Warren, 52, and Paul Goslin, 56 - both from Somerset - and James Male, 22, from Southampton, died after the 40ft yacht got into trouble returning from Antigua to the UK in May 2014.

    Douglas Innes, 43, of Whitworth Crescent, Southampton, director of Stormforce Coaching Limited, faces four counts of manslaughter by gross negligence at Winchester Crown Court, which he denies.

    Former police officer Kevin Duffy was jailed for failing to respond to phone calls from a refugee before he was killed.

    He was found guilty of misconduct in public office following the murder of Bijan Ebrahimi in Bristol in 2013.

    He claims he was unfairly blamed for the wider failings in the police.

    Manchester City's win at Wembley was not the only football cup event taking place over the weekend.

    The 2018 FA People's Cup - the biggest five-a-side tournament in the country - kicked off with more than 50,000 players taking part across 278 venues.

    A former police constable jailed over dealings with a refugee who was later murdered says the people prosecuted were those with the least authority.

    Kevin Duffy was found guilty of misconduct in public office following the murder of Bijan Ebrahimi in 2013.

    His wife Rebecca said he, and jailed ex-PCSO Andrew Passmore, were "basically made to be the scapegoats to take the blame".

    Avon and Somerset Police said the case had already been "thoroughly examined".
