    Danny Cipriani has been left out of England's latest training camp in Treviso, Italy.

    The Gloucester fly-half was named in the official World Cup training squad earlier this month.

    But the Premiership player of the year is not among a 38-man group travelling to Italy on Monday for a 12-day camp.

    A new scheme to improve safety for pedestrians in the centre of Yeovil comes into play from midnight tonight.

    Pedestrianisation of Wine Street, Union Street and the top end of Middle street will limit access for vehicles.

    Disabled parking and loading bays will also be relocated, however no bays are expected to be reduced.

    It's part of a wider effort to encourage more people to use the town centre.

    Apprenticeship degrees in policing are now being offered by the University of the West of England.

    The three-year course has been launched with Avon and Somerset Police - which will pay recruits a salary.

    It's the first force in the South West to move its initial police learning to a degree-based apprenticeship.

    Radio Bristol: A new three-year apprenticeship degree in policing has started at the University of the West of England. The course has been launched with Avon and Somerset Police, which will pay recruits a salary.

    BBC Somerset: A Frome woman is calling for the age for bowel cancer screening to be lowered again. Lisa Wells - who is a mother of two - was given a terminal diagnosis in her early 30s. She claims the symptoms are often overlooked in younger patients.

    BBC Gloucestershire: Four award-winning statues have been installed at the Meningitis Now remembrance garden in Stroud - to mark its 10th anniversary. The statues depict young people whose lives have been affected by the illness.

    BBC Wiltshire: Parents in part of Swindon say they're fed up with the state of the area their children have to walk through every day to get to Gorse Hill Primary school.

    A terminally-ill mother from Somerset is calling for the age for bowel cancer screening to be lowered.

    Lisa Wells, who set up the charity Lisa's Army, was given a diagnosis of bowel cancer in her early 30s.

    The Government says it is planning to lower the age from 60 to 50 and Public Health England says it'll review screening regularly.

    Ms Wells is now planning a big charity event to help others with the disease.

    A Environment Agency consultation over EDF plans to protect fish in the Severn Estuary will end this coming Friday.

    EDF has advised it's not going to install a promised underwater acoustic fish warning device on its cooling pipe at Hinkley Point C.

    It claims fewer fish will be killed than Hinkley point A & B combined.

    But environmental groups and fishermen are worried that four times as many fish could be killed because the new cooling pipe is four times larger.

    Improvement works on a key junction in Corsham begin today.

    Old traffic signals are being be replaced and the roads are being be resurfaced.

    The A4 will have unrestricted two-way traffic but access from the Cross Keys Road and Biddestone Road will be closed, with diversions in place.

    The works could take up to eight weeks.

    Hotel demolition

    A dual carriageway next to the Premier Inn at Cribbs Causeway has partially reopened.

    Work has been ongoing all weekend to demolish the building after it was devastated by a fire which began on Wednesday.

    During the blaze part of the building collapsed onto the A4018, which had been closed ever since.

    Now though, just the lane nearest the hotel remains partially closed while demolition work is carried out.
