    It's been confirmed Huntingdon Waitrose will close in the autumn after bosses said they would be "exercising the break clause in the lease", allowing them to shut the store.

    The supermarket on St Benedict's Court is more than 40 years old.

    Waitrose said the investment needed at the store was "unlikely to allow it to be profitable over the long-term".

    Neil Westbrook, head of retail operations, said: "This is very much a last resort, but we have not been able to find a way to make the shop profitable.

    "We understand the disappointment this will cause and are incredibly grateful to those who have expressed their support."

    The store, which employs about 100 members of staff, will close on Tuesday, 5 September. 

    A petition set up to try and save it from closure gathered almost 2,000 signatures.

    East Midlands Trains say, external there's been a failure of the electricity supply at the Doncaster signal box, which is causing problems:

    • Trains are unable to run between Doncaster and Lincoln Central on the Doncaster-Peterborough route
    • No service between Lincoln and Newark Northgate on the Grimsby/Lincoln-Leicester route
    • Trains on the Norwich/Nottingham/Liverpool line are being diverted and won't stop at Grantham
    • Nottingham/Grantham/Skegness trains won't stop at Grantham either

    This was the scene a short while ago after a single car crashed on Huntingdon Road in Cambridge during the early hours.

    The male driver suffered "serious abdominal injuries", according to the ambulance service. He has been taken to hospital.

    We've just heard the southbound carriageway has reopened - the northbound side remains shut.

    I've just had some more information sent to me regarding the crash near Girton College in Cambridge early this morning...

    A man is in a critical condition in hospital after the car he was driving crashed on the A1307 Huntingdon Road at about 03:45.

    The road remains closed from the BP garage to the A14 Girton interchange, and police say it is "expected to remain closed for some time".

    It's shut in both directions between the Girton interchange for the A14/M11 and Castle Street in Cambridge.

    It will turn a little cloudy from the east during the evening and overnight, but the breeze will keep temperatures a little higher, with lows in the west dropping to 3 or 4C (37-40F).

    If you're wondering what the latest is on plans to dual the A47 in Cambridgeshire - nip over to the Haycock Hotel this evening. 

    Highways England, external is putting all the plans on display until 20:00.

    It's all part of a massive improvement programme for six sections of the 115-mile A47 between Peterborough and the east coast.

    Among the proposals - dualling the 1.5-mile single carriageway between Wansford and Sutton - and improving the A47 junction at Guyhirn. 

    If you're a regular motorist round there you know how congested they get.

    The Cambridge and District Volunteer Centre, external is to close on 21 April. 

    The charity is closing down but all inquiries will be dealt with by the Cambridge Council for Voluntary Services, external , which will help and support community and voluntary groups across Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire and Fenland. 

    It says it can no longer operate after the county council "changed the way in which funding was allocated".

    Cambridgeshire County Council says changes had to be made, as it was funding nine separate contracts but is now funding one single group instead.

    Despite new laws coming into force on 1 March, doubling the fine for drivers caught on the phone, the Beds, Cambs and Herts Roads Policing Unit is still catching HGV drivers in the act.

    In his first interview since assistant manager Lee Glover left Peterborough United last week, manager Grant McCann says he's "big enough and tough enough" to regroup and move on.  

    Glover (pictured) was appointed as McCann's assistant last summer, but left the club earlier this week due to a disagreement with the owner, Darragh MacAnthony, over tactics.

    McCann said: "It's always disappointing to see a good man lose his job, and it's unfortunate it's come to this, but as a squad we've united over the course of this week. 

    "The chairman owns the club and can make any decision he wants to make. Nobody is ever safe and that's the world of football these days.

    "There'll be no rushing to make an appointment. We just want to concentrate on Gillingham this weekend."

    Posh have won only four matches in League One since Christmas.

    A book of condolence for the Westminster attack has been opened at Peterborough City Council.

    A special ceremony is taking place at the Town Hall at 17:00 to mark the opening of the book.

    The council says faith and community leaders from across the city will stand "shoulder to shoulder" to show their solidarity.

    More than 23,000 illegal cigarettes and 1.6kg (3.5lbs) of tobacco have been seized from two locations in Wisbech. 

    Specialist trained dogs managed to sniff them out. 

    The raids were organised by Cambridgeshire Trading Standards with the support of Cambridgeshire Police.

    Earlier we reported that Cambridgeshire Police was "monitoring" the current threat in the county after yesterday's terror attacks in London. 

    The force has sent us more information, confirming that extra patrols are taking place in key locations in the county, including public areas.

    It's urging the public to "remain vigilant" and if anyone sees anything that causes concern or raises suspicions to get in touch, external .
