    Coventry City moved out of the League One relegation places, despite sharing the spoils with Walsall at the Bescot Stadium.  

    The Sky Blues took a deserved lead after 37 minutes as Andy Rose reacted quicker than the Walsall defence to turn home Marvin Sordell's low cross from 10 yards.  

    Walsall levelled in the 76th minute with a delightful goal from Erhun Oztumer, who exchanged passes with Simeon Jackson before sliding his shot into the bottom corner from 15 yards.

    An investigation has been launched after a man was shot in Coventry over the weekend

    The 22-year-old was taken to hospital after being shot in the arm and leg at about 17:30 in the Stivichall area of the city on Saturday. 

    He remains in a stable condition in hospital.

    Bees in the Midlands overcame summer starvation threats to provide more honey per hive than last year, according to figures released by the British Beekeepers Association. , external

    The cold and windy spring meant bee keepers had to feed their colonies to keep them alive.

    Wasps won for the sixth time in seven Premiership matches but their victory over Newcastle Falcons was marred by an injury to Marty Moore.

    Wasps prop Moore was taken off on a stretcher early on at the Ricoh Arena with a possible neck injury.

    The victory leaves Dai Young's side a point behind Premiership leaders Saracens - the only side to have beaten them in the league this campaign.

    Ron Ball, the former Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner, has confirmed he'll fight the Richmond Park by-election. 

    The election follows the decision of the sitting MP, Zac Goldsmith, to resign over the decision to expand Heathrow airport.

    Mr Ball, who backed the Leave campaign in the EU Referendum, says Mr Goldsmith's decision opens the door to the Liberal Democrats, who he says will make the election about the referendum result.
