    Former X Factor star Fleur East is to switch on the Christmas lights in Coventry later this month. 

    The ‘Sax’ singer will be performing on the city centre stage on Wednesday, November 23 to perform and help herald in the season of goodwill.

    Severn Trent Water says that following the burst water pipe in Nuneaton this morning all properties have had their supplies restored. 

    Church Street remains closed while the repairs are carried out. 

    Spokeswoman Ria Gaffney said: "Our teams are now working hard to repair the damaged pipe and getting everything back to normal as quickly as possible. In order to keep road users safe we’ll need to keep Church Street closed while we carry out the repairs".

    People in Nuneaton woke up to find their water supply gone this morning after a pipe burst near the town centre.

    It happened on Church Street overnight. 

    Severn Trent say they hope to re-connect the majority of people affected by the burst pipe as soon as possible.

    An investigation is under way after a nine-year-old boy was physically assaulted by a man in Rugby., external

    It happened at 05:39 on Sunday 16 October 2016 at Millennium Park on Claremont Road in Rugby. 

    The boy, who is from Rugby, said he was pulled from his bike before being assaulted.

    Four countries are taking part in the Four Nations tournament, including England, who've been training at the University of Birmingham.

    Following last weekend's narrow defeat by New Zealand, England are hot favourites to beat Scotland on Saturday.

    More than 70 pay phones in south Warwickshire could be disconnected under a review into phone usage by BT. 

    The firm says more people are using mobiles to make calls meaning the call-boxes aren't needed.

    If the plan goes ahead, three in the Bidford and Alcester areas, along with six in Stratford, would be removed.

    A company which makes and rents out wooden pallets is urging people not to use them when they're building bonfires. 

    Coventry-based Pooling Partners says tens of thousands of pallets go up in flames every bonfire night, and the practice needs to come to an end. 

    The company says the pallets are recyclable and the destruction of so many could have even have an impact on economic growth.

  18. Firefighters tackle large barn firepublished at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2016

    Firefighters are still at the scene of a barn fire in Warwickshire, more than 24 hours after it started. 

    The flames took hold in 320 tonness of hay at Church Farm in Sherbourne yesterday afternoon. 

    Eight firefighters remain at the scene at Fullbrook Road.
