    A poor turn out last weekend at a festive street food market in Coventry's Cathedral's Ruins has led plans for it to be cancelled this weekend. 

    The decision was taken by the Digbeth Dining Club, who organise street dining experiences across the Midlands. 

    Spokesman Jack Brabant is putting it down to bad weather and potential visitors being busy with other things in the run up to Christmas.

    Unemployment in the West Midlands fell by 25,000 to 151,000 in the three months to October, according to the Office for National Statistics, external (ONS).

    The unemployment rate was 5.3% for the same period. 

    Compared with the same three months in 2015, the ONS says unemployment in the region is down by 4,000. 

    Across the UK as a whole, unemployment stands at 1.62 million for the period, with a drop of 16,000 for the country.

    A new witness has come forward with information about the disappearance of Nicola Payne.

    The mother-of-one was last seen 25 years ago, on 14 December, on her way to her parents' house in Coventry.

    Police say they now know she was taken to a country park the day she went missing.

    Her body has never been found but police said a new witness has come forward to say the teenager was taken to Coombe Abbey.

    Officers have recently been searching woodland at the country park.

    Elderly residents at sheltered housing complexes in one part of Warwickshire say their lives are being put at risk by huge cuts to the warden service. 

    Nuneaton and Bedworth Council is consulting residents about reducing the number of wardens from 50 to 14 to save money.

    An initiative to help water voles has been awarded a grant of £12,000.

    Tesco customers voted for proceeds of Nuneaton and Bedworth stores' 5p bag levy to go to the Walk beside the Water Voles project run by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

    The winter of 1946 was one of the most severe in living memory and one Midlands schoolboy recorded it in meticulous detail.

    Conservative MPs Craig Tracey and Marcus Jones met with Health Minister Philip Dunne to discuss concerns over the future of A&E and maternity services at the George Eliot Hospital.

    A reorganisation of some NHS services in Coventry and Warwickshire is being considered to save £200m.

    The MPs for North Warwickshire and Bedworth and Nuneaton said they vowed to fight any plan which may lead to major services at the Eliot moving to Coventry.

    Coventry University has joined a university in Finland to create a giant digital window that allows two groups of students to learn about Shakespeare together, despite the geography between them.

    The wall-sized immersive Shakespeare Portal , external- which lets students interact with virtually no delays - was recently awarded gold at the international Reimagine Education Awards.
