    A lack of snow on rooftops surrounded by properties with a covering of flakes point police to potential drugs farms, a force says.

    West Midlands Police's Cannabis Disposal Team spotted this property in the region amid suspicions over the heat source that meant snow hadn't stuck like next door.

    When queried on social media about whether it could be the result of poor insulation, police responded: "We use these signs only in conjunction with other more definitive intelligence. We won't raid a house where it's just bath night."

    The team used the hashtag #SeeYouSoon.

    One man died and a woman was taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars in Hampton-in-Arden this morning.

    The ambulance service said it arrived at the scene on Eastcote Lane to find one vehicle had left the road and nothing could be done to save the driver.

    The second driver, a woman in her 50s, sustained a chest injury.

    A yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in the West Midlands.

    The Met Office says:, external "A cold north to northwesterly airstream will maintain the risk of wintry showers through Friday night and Saturday morning. However, amounts of snow are likely to be very variable with some places remaining dry."

    A Coventry man's been given a six-week suspended prison sentence after admitting to making more than 100 nuisance calls to police in three days this month, police say., external

    Police staff can be distressed by nuisance calls, the West Midlands force says

    Darren McIntyre, 47, of Pinnick Close, appeared before Coventry magistrates yesterday. He made 111 calls in all.

    Ch Insp Matt Markham of West Midlands Police says such calls "take up valuable police time" and can also cause "distress for our staff".

    McIntyre was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

    Police in Coventry say they're no longer treating the death of a 50 year old man in the city's Henley area as suspicious. 

    A 54 year old woman, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released without charge and the case has been referred to the coroner.
