    The snow showers should ease later this afternoon however it's not over yet.

    There is a yellow warning for more snow all day tomorrow across the East Midlands. Snow showers are expected along with very low temperatures.

    There's the potential for a further 15cm of snow in some places.

    Strong winds will likely lead to drifting of snow, as well as a severe wind chill.

    East Midlands Ambulance Service has cancelled all non-emergency patient transport journeys because of the snow.

    Patients who have appointments for vital treatment, such as chemotherapy and dialysis, and patients leaving hospital, will be prioritised.

    Anyone with a friend or relative due to be discharged from hospital today or tomorrow is asked you to help by collecting them if possible.

    Here's a nice story to warm you up in the bitter cold.

    Yesterday, Derbyshire police released images from a camera found in Derby - on it were family christening photos.

    The police were hoping that putting the photos online would help track the owner, external of the camera down.

    Less than 24 hours after the images were released, the owner has been found 165 miles away in Somerset - and he didn't even know it was missing.

    David Trotham of Woolavington, Somerset, said: “It really is a remarkable story, I had loaned the camera to one of my sons who is taking a zoology degree at the University of Derby... he had a fall on his bike last week and we think the camera must have fallen out if his back-pack."

    He continued: “I would really like to thank the person who handed it in, the Derbyshire police for making the effort to find me and the people who took the time to help through social media."

    Matthew Tait has signed a new contract at Leicester Tigers which will keep him at Welford Road until 2019.

    Tait, 32, made his 100th Premiership appearance for Tigers in Sunday's bonus point win at Saracens.

    The versatile back told the Leicester Tigers Rugby Show that he knows his job at the club is different to when he joined in 2011.

    Gritters, snow ploughs and farmers will be working through the night to try to clear the hardest-hit roads in Derbyshire, the county council says.

    The authority's website , externalsaid it expects to be out spreading grit on all major roads in the north and south of the county.

    The council is warning people to travel only if it's essential.

    Car firm Toyota has announced it will build its new Auris model at its factory in Burnaston, Derbyshire.

    Thousands of jobs have been secured in the process, with production due to start at the end of the year.

    Marvin Cooke, managing director, said he was "delighted".

    "This news is a great vote of confidence for our UK work force...it comes with great responsibility but the news is very welcomed," he said.

    The site employs more than 2,400 staff.

    • The Joseph Whitaker School in Rainworth is closed from 14:00
    • All Saints Anglican/Methodist Primary School in Elston is now closed
    • Ordsall Primary School in Retford is closed
    • St. Patricks Catholic Primary School in Mansfield is closed

    Also, Newark College is warning it will be closed tomorrow with more snow forecast to fall.

    Community groups have rallied round to support the emergency services investigating the cause of the explosion on Hinckley Road in Leicester. A blast on Sunday night claimed the lives of five people.

    People from all walks of life and backgrounds have pulled together. Among them was the Midland Langar Seva Society, a Sikh charity that feeds the homeless and those in need all over Leicestershire.

    The Seva Society was founded by our Guru. The concept is the whole community dining together, for equality amongst all people in oneness and sharing. There were about 30 police and rescuers and we just wanted to support them and the fantastic work they are doing.
