  1. Bradgate Park points finger at dog poo bag dropperspublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 16 October 2019

A walk in the park is a pleasure for many people, but sadly some selfish souls refuse to clean up after themselves - or their animals.

Bradgate Park Trust is so fed up of dog walkers who don't tidy up after their pets, it's reminding visitors to bag and bin their leftovers before they leave.

The litter can be dangerous for the animals in the park, they say, and as the irritated-looking deer below shows, it doesn't take a stag-gering effort to do the right thing.

  11. Calls to uncover 'holy well' linked to Thomas Becketpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 15 October 2019

    Chris Doidge
    BBC Radio Derby, political reporter

A local history group wants an archaeological dig to take place in Derby city centre to see if a "holy well" linked to St Thomas Becket still exists.

The area is due to be developed in the next few years, but historians think the "well" could become a tourist attraction.

Becketwell area due to be developed

It's thought the Becketwell area is named after the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket.

The "well" was concreted over in the 1960s to make way for the Duckworth Square shopping centre.

The "well" was said to be holy and there are suggestions it may be linked to one of the hundreds of "miracles" performed by Becket.

Derbyshire Archaeological Society said: "This is not quite Richard III under a car park, but a 12th Century holy well attached to St Thomas Becket is still a rare survival."
