Events at a major Nottinghamshire venue have been cancelled at short notice due to coronavirus rates in the area.
After discussions between organisers and health officials, the Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair and the Normous Newark Autojumble will not got ahead this weekend at Newark Showground, the county council said.
The most recent weekly data shows 34 new cases in Newark, meaning a rate 25.4 per 100,000. The UK is currently quarantining visitors from countries with a rate above 20 per 100,000.
Jonathan Gribbin, public health director for Nottinghamshire, said: "The welfare of local people is a top priority and I am grateful to the event organisers for co-operating fully with this decision which is the right thing to do for the residents of Newark and the wider community.
"Tackling coronavirus is a county-wide effort and everyone needs to play their part by strictly adhering to the government advice on social distancing, hand washing, the wearing of face masks and the test and trace scheme."
The Antiques Fair for traders has gone ahead today as planned, but is not open to the public.
