Here's proof of how long the rubbish we leave behind can take to break down.
This Mother's Pride bread wrapper, thought to be at least 49 years old, was found in Bradgate Park in Leicestershire by rangers and volunteers repairing a dry stone wall.
"This shows how long litter lasts," a post on the Bradgate Park Trust's Facebook page said.
"It was probably put in there [the wall] by a 'waller' after he finished his sandwiches."
It's not known exactly how old the packet is but the park said given the price, which is just visible, it is likely to date from before decimalisation in 1971.

Hundreds of nurses, midwives, paramedics and members of the public joined a protest in Chesterfield on Saturday as part of a national movement to dispute the exclusion of nurses in the government's public sector workers pay rise plan.
While people also marched in cities such as Nottingham, Leeds and Manchester, almost 450 walked through Chesterfield with banners and placards.
Matt Tacey, a community psychiatric nurse, said he put together the protest because many people were "frustrated, angry and feeling very unappreciated and ignored" by the recent pay "snub".
"We need to ensure that this is just the start of nurses being listened to and standing up for ourselves," he said.
Mr Tacey has worked for the NHS for 12 years and said many colleagues felt upset they had been forgotten given the work they had done during the pandemic in the last six months.
It will be another warm day, though with increased chances of thundery showers.

Police tackling illegal parking at a Derbyshire beauty spot said they used up an entire book of tickets in one day.
An armed response unit happened to be on the B6012 near Chatsworth on Saturday when they saw a number of cars ignoring parking rules.
This was despite prominent signs warning that parking on roads with double white lines could result in fines and points.
A spokesman said the book contained about 20 tickets.

Traders at Nottingham's Victoria Centre Market say they're being forced out of business after being told to pay rent for the period they were closed during the coronavirus lockdown.
The city council paused rents while the market closed between 24 March and 15 June but has now requested the money is paid back over the next 12 to 18 months.
Clothing stall operator Carole Lilley, who has traded at the market for 38 years, said she was facing the prospect of having to pay back £1,830 for every month she was unable to trade.
"We were told at the beginning of the virus we wouldn't have to pay any rent once the shutters came down," she said.
"This will completely finish the business off. I'm extremely disappointed."
A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said: "We understand how hard the Covid-19 lockdown has been for traders at the Victoria Centre Market and worked with them to reopen as soon as possible.
"This involved a number of physical modifications to the market and we thank stallholders for embracing those.
"We have also tried to soften the impact for traders by pausing rent payments, so businesses have the resilience to bounce back now lockdown conditions are easing.
"We've further offered flexible payment plans to repay arrears over a 12 or 18-month period."

But Dalton outperformed Roger Moore, Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan and George Lazenby in the online vote.

More than 14,000 people voted in the Radio Times poll, which saw the actors pitted against each other in a cup format.
The final shootout saw 44% of people vote for Connery, 32% for Dalton and 23% for Brosnan.

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has said it is "shocked and saddened" by damage caused to trees in one of the "last remaining fragments of Sherwood Forest".
It received reports on Thursday that trees and a tent had been burned and broken glass had been "strewn about" at the Strawberry Hills Heath Nature Reserve.
A tree had had a large amount of bark removed from its trunk, which would kill it and tracks from either a quad bike or 4x4 vehicle were also found, the trust said.
Erin McDaid, from the trust, said rangers were already stretched trying to keep nature reserves open during the pandemic.
He said: "We were very distressed to receive reports of damage to wildlife habitat and anti-social behaviour at our Strawberry Hills Heath Nature Reserve as this is a much-loved reserve in the heart Sherwood Forest where we are working hard with neighbours and partners to restore and reconnect fragments of the ancient forest.
"This latest incident is hugely frustrating but we are determined to ensure that the full potential of this area for both wildlife and people is realised, but to make it happen we will need more support and would also ask people to report any criminal activity directly to the police."
