    South Central Ambulance Service - which covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire - has advised people using the patient transport service to cancel their bookings if their appointments are moved due to poor weather.

  3. Chiltern Railways services affected to London during rush hourpublished at 07:51 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2019

    Rail services in Oxfordshire have been affected this morning. Chiltern Railways has said the 07:17 service between Oxford and London Marylebone has been cancelled, alongside the 07:10 service between Aylesbury and London. Both were cancelled due to the train crew being delayed.

    Some services are also running with fewer carriages.

  4. Warning over 'treacherous' conditions across Thames Valleypublished at 07:46 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2019

    Drivers in the Thames Valley are being advised not to travel unless absolutely essential today.

    Thames Valley police has issued the warning after a night of heavy snow has hit the region, which it warns has left "many roads extremely treacherous or impassable".

    An amber weather warning is currently in place for further snow in Berkshire, Oxforshire and north Hampshire until 11:00 GMT.

  8. 'Heavy snowfall' in Thames Valleypublished at 07:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2019

    Parts of the Thames Valley appear to have borne the brunt of the overnight snowfall in the South.

    Oxfordshire County Council has said the south east / Chilterns area of the county is the most affected.

    A "light dusting" of snow has been reported in parts of Dorset, although Bournemouth Airport is closed.

    Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are less affected by snow towards the south, although no Stagecoach buses are running in the Andover area.

    The airfield at Bournemouth Airport is closed "until further notice". There are five flights scheduled to depart today, with passengers flying to Geneva and Tenerife already at the airport.

    Southampton, Blandford Forum and Goring-on-Thames are the only areas where power cuts have been reported.

    Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said 181 customers were affected in the Upper Shirley area of Southampton.

  13. 'Mostly normal' services on trains across the Southpublished at 06:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2019

    South Western Railway has said trains are running on the main line from Dorset to London via Winchester.

    An earlier points problem between Petersfield and Guildford has been resolved, although disruption is expected until 08:00 GMT.

    Great Western Railway says it is running a "mostly normal" service but there may be alterations.

    And Chiltern Railways appears to be running a normal service currently

    An overturned lorry near Nettlebed, in the Chiltern Hills, is partially blocking the A4130.

    BBC Oxford travel reports that the road is currently passable but is likely to be closed to assist recovery.

  15. Amber weather warning for areas of the South.published at 06:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2019

    An amber weather warning has been put in place by the Met Office as snow falls across parts of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, and Surrey.

    The weather forecaster said Berkshire and Oxfordshire could expect an additional 5cm of snowfall, on top of snow that fell during the evening.

    Travel disruption is expected, with rail, roads and flights likely to be affected. The Met Office added that rural communities are likely to be cut off.

    The amber weather warning, the second-highest, is in place until 11:00 GMT.

    Snow has fallen across southern England, with an amber warning still in place for snow until 11:00 GMT across Berkshire and Hampshire, and a yellow warning for snow and ice across the whole of the South.
