    There is racing at Worcester, external today and the first of the seven races on the card will be due off at 14:00.

    The general manager at Pitchcroft is Jenny Cheshire, who says there'll be no shortage of top jockeys and trainers, including Donald McCain, Philip Hobbs and David Pipe.

    A woman from the West Midlands whose four-year-old son lost his limbs after contracting meningitis is urging the government to introduce a vaccination for all children.

    At the moment the vaccine is only given to new borns, but Julie Tuckley (pictured above) says all children should be protected.

    Kidderminster Harriers, external' Tyrell Waite is confident they can put Tuesday night's disappointment behind them. 

    After an impressive 6-1 victory at Curzon Ashton on the opening day, Harriers were then beaten 2-1 at home by Brackley Town. Waite admitted they hadn't been good enough but remains confident the wins will come.

    "We will all agree it wasn't quite there. Obviously there's something that we need to look at. We just need to come in and just play our game. 

    "I just think we need to just relax and once we relax and play our game no-one will be able to beat us in this league."

    A Hereford man who became impaled on railings two years ago has been given his sight back in an operation.

    Robin Dunford, who was lucky to survive the horrific accident in Hay-on-Wye had the operation at the Moorfields Eye Hospital, external in London. 

    After being blind in one eye and rapidly losing sight in the other, he says he's looking forward to watching more live sport.

    "Early morning when I open the curtains I can see everything a bit more clearly," he said.

    "I can walk around the High Town now in Hereford and see the names of most of the shops actually which I did just by memory before and I couldn't see and I was using my cane."

    An appeal has been set up for a young woman from Hereford who has been badly injured in a car crash.

    Sam Hemming had just graduated from Bangor University, external with a law degree when the accident on the M6 happened three weeks ago.  

    She was a passenger and broke bones in her neck. 

    The gofundme page said she was out of a coma after 19 days, but doctors have warned it may take her up to two years to come round.

    The appeal has been set up by her best friend.

    Worcester Warriors' England international full back Chris Pennell is to miss the start of the season as recovers from a neck injury. 

    Pennell has made 165 appearances for the club but has not travelled to Tignes for the pre-season training camp as he continues to work on his recover with the Sixways medical team.
