    The Prison Service says a brief disturbance at Worcestershire's HMP Hewell was resolved without any injuries. 

    Two prisoners were protesting at the Tardebigge prison yesterday.

  2. People 'turning their backs on plastic surgery'published at 10:41 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2017

    A Worcestershire plastic surgeon says he's not surprised by new figures that show plastic surgery is on the decline. 

    The number of Britons who had cosmetic surgery in 2016 fell by 40% compared with the year before, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. 

    However their findings show non-surgical methods like dermal fillers are growing in popularity.

    A Worcestershire grandfather says "it's never too late to turn your life around".

    Colin Barrett, 73, from Droitwich Spa has lost more than four stone in weight and has taken up running, after realising he might not live long enough to see his grandchildren grow up.

    Worcester stunned Saracens with a deserved win at Sixways with Ryan Mills kicking all 24 of the home side's points.

    The hosts led 12-7 at half-time courtesy of Mills's boot while Chris Ashton scored Saracens' try.

    After the break Mills and Alex Lozowski traded penalties before Worcester's fly-half added two more.

    Schalk Brits's late score put pressure on Worcester but Mills had the last say from the tee and secured the victory.

  6. Man comes forward in Barnt Green rail death investigationpublished at 09:22 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2017

    A man has come forward and is helping officers investigating the death of a woman who was hit by a train on the tracks at Barnt Green, British Transport Police say.

    The 29-year-old victim is believed to have died as she tried to cross the tracks in the early hours of Thursday morning.

    The death is not being treated as suspicious.   

    Last week police said they were not sure why two people were seen on the lines and issued a CCTV image of someone they'd like to speak to.  

  7. Bell-ringer rescued after 'freak accident'published at 08:38 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2017

    A man had to be lowered 80ft (24m) when he was injured after being flipped upside down and dropped in a freak bell-ringing accident at Worcester Cathedral at the weekend.

    Dramatic pictures show Ian Bowman being brought to the ground by a specialist rescue unit.

    The accident happened during evensong on Saturday when the bell-ringing rope caught Mr Bowman's heel. He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

    Mr Bowman, 51, fractured a bone in his back but is able to walk.
