    How good is the internet where you live?

    An online petition has been set up calling on Hull-based Internet Provider KCOM to provide a better service. 

    It was put on social media yesterday and already has 1,000 members. 

    We're waiting for a response from the firm.

    A team of archaeologists has uncovered a rare Black Death burial pit, external at Thornton Abbey.

    48 skeletons including 27 skeletons of children were found by a team from Sheffield University. 

    The plague pit was discovered at the site of a 14th-century monastery hospital.

  3. Silent Night: Should parents be allowed to bring babies to Nativity play?published at 11:28 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    It's getting to that time of year when primary school children across our area will be getting ready to put on their Christmas Nativity play.

    It's a proud moment for parents, but one school in Hull is asking people not to bring babies and toddlers along with them to watch.

    Kingswood Parks Primary School is going to put on a creche to allow parents to watch the play without being disturbed.

    Archaeologists have made a grim discovery at Thornton Abbey in North Lincolnshire.

    They've uncovered a burial pit dating back to the Black Death, containing 48 skeletons, including the remains of 27 children.

    They were found by archaeologists from the University of Sheffield at the site of a 14th Century monastery hospital.

    It happened near the Scawby junction.

    A man who had withdrawn £100 from a cash machine was threatened with a knife and robbed in Scunthorpe.

    The 25-year-old was walking down an alleyway when he was attacked by two men.

    One of the men grabbed him and threatening him with a penknife and demanding he hand over his wallet. 

    The attack was at 19.00 on Sunday, 27 November off Frodingham Road.

    Thousands of trees are being planted in Hull this week. 

    It's part of plans by the bakery company William Jackson Food Group to plant 200,000 trees by the firm's 200th anniversary in 2051. 

    So far 23,000 trees have been planted on land donated by Hull City Council. 

    Chairman of the Group, Nicholas Oughtred said:

    A Beverley councillor is facing expulsion from East Riding of Yorkshire Council over offensive comments he posted on social media after the murder of the MP Jo Cox. 

    A report says Dominic Peacock brought the council into disrepute.

    Officials are expected to make the decision within two weeks. 

    Mr Peacock has not responded to the allegations, but has continued to collect his council allowances since June.

    Investigations are continuing after a man died after being shot by police in Hull.

    Armed officers were called to the city centre yesterday morning after reports of a man with an axe. 

    It is only the second time in the 42-year history of Humberside Police that officers have shot someone.
