    More than 1,000 homes were flooded as water levels rose.

    Some communities say more needs to be done to protect them in the future.

    The road safety charity Brake says the number of children arrested for drink driving in Yorkshire is "incredibly concerning."

    BBC figures show more than 300 under 18s were arrested over a five year period, with 46 in the Humberside area.

    A Hull-based charity that provides support and advice for people with autism has been targeted twice by thieves over the weekend. 

    Thousands of pounds of IT and games were stolen from Matthew's Hub at the centre on Ferensway. 

    It comes just a day after the charity re-launched and started up a new programme to train staff.

    Humberside Police say they've recovered two laptops, a PS4 console and a mobile phone, which they believe were stolen.

    They were found at a second hand store in Hull.

    Officers believe the items were stolen in the West Hull area. If they belong to you, they are asking you to call the 101 number.

    Imagine finally getting your Christmas shopping done - and then it all gets stolen.

    Well Humberside Police say that last December there were 268 thefts from vehicles in December alone, including presents worth hundreds of pounds.

    Officers are warning people not to leave newly bought gifts on display in their cars.

    Emergency services were called to help rescue a woman from a canal near Snaith this morning.

    Fire crews, police and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called to help the 41-year-old who was in the water at Pollington.

    It's not known why the woman was in the water.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue say the rescue was a success and she was taken to safety.

    The charity Save the Children says it's surprised to hear about the landlord in Hull who has banned Christmas jumpers in his pubs. 

    The charity is hoping the ban will be lifted on Friday 16 December which is its annual Christmas Jumper Day.

    Work has begun on a new £650,000 cycle track in Hull.

    Hull City Council say the 1km closed loop road, which is being built next to Ennerdale Leisure Centre, would be safe for cyclists to use away from traffic.

    The six-metre wide circuit is being funded by British Cycling and the council.

    Three men have been attacked during a fracas in Driffield.

    Humberside police said two men attacked one of the victims in an alleyway off the Market Place in the early hours of Sunday 27 December.

    Two other people who went to help the victim were then attacked.

    All three suffered facial injuries.

    Campaigners are fighting proposals to split the Grimsby's parliamentary constituency in two.

    It could happen if proposals to restructure boundaries go ahead with one MP in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire being lost.
