Hull's City of Culture year has begun by capturing the imagination of more than 60,000 people in its first day.

That's the number of people who visited the city centre to watch the large scale firework display over the Humber and Made in Hull - projections and performances on the city's buildings telling the story of Hull throughout this week.

Residents will protest in Grimsby today after the council took away their parking schemes three years ago.

It'll be at the new Cartergate development where protestors claim workers have a discount for parking.

They want their residents permits back at a reduced cost.

North East Lincolnshire Council say Cartergate car park is underused and the loss of some bays to the new office development during weekdays is unlikely to have much of an impact.
