    Hull City have confirmed the double signing of Oumar Niasse and Evandro.

    26-year-old Niasse arrives at the KCOM Stadium on a loan deal until the end of the season from Everton.

    30-year-old Evandro has signed a two-and-a-half year deal after joining from FC Porto for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

    I've been to Cottingham to meet the group who are are fighting to save the town's Civic Hall. 

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council is planning to relocate the customer service centre and registration services, which are currently based at the Hall, into the newly extended library.

    Now the newly formed Cottingham Village Community Trust is in the process of applying for charitable status to save the hall.

    Gateshead manager Neil Aspin (pictured) is reported to have described an offer made by Grimsby Town for attacking midfielder Sam Jones as 'pathetic'. 

    Speaking to The Journal newspaper, Aspin is quoted as saying that Jones won't be going to Grimsby and that he doesn't want to speak to the Mariners. 

    Jones has 11 goals this season and is Gateshead's top scorer.

    Two hundred people visited Hull's Ferens Art Gallery in the first six minutes after it opened, according to the council.

    There were queues outside as the gallery re-opened it's doors earlier after a £5m refurbishment.

  10. 'One-Yorkshire' devolution planpublished at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2017

    A Labour MP wants the whole of Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire to unite to get devolved powers. 

    In a speech today, Shadow Minister, John Trickett, will deliver the idea of a 'one-Yorkshire' plan which will include Northern Lincolnshire. 

    It would mean having a mayor for the whole region. 

    The Northern Powerhouse Minister Andrew Percy says such a deal is unlikely:

  11. 'Concern' amid reports that Hull building firm could go into administrationpublished at 11:53 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2017

    Workers at the Hull based building firm, Hall Construction, say they're extremely worried amid reports that the company could be about to go in to administration.

    Hall Construction has so far not responded to the reports.

    A meeting with staff and sub-contractors has been taking place at the firm this morning.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council says it has a number of contracts in place with the firm and says it's making contingency plans to make sure that ongoing projects can be completed.

  12. Sandbag supplies for North Lincolnshirepublished at 11:33 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2017

    With flood warnings still in place in the Humber region, North Lincolnshire Council says it'll be replenishing supplies of sandbags in at-risk areas.

    Another high tide is expected later on today. 

    Here's where sandbags will be handed out from around 14:00 this afternoon:

    • Waterside Road, Barton
    • East Marsh Road, Goxhill
    • Barrow Road, New Holland

    With 20 flood warnings still in place in the Humber region, the Environment Agency is warning people to take extra care in coastal areas.

    They are warning that another high tide this evening combined with strong winds, could lead to some localised flooding.

    Hull's biggest art gallery reopens its doors to the public today following a £5m renovation.

    The Ferens Art Gallery has been shut for moire than a year but visitors will once again be able to see its collection.

    The star attraction is the gallery's most expensive purchase - a masterpiece by Italian painter Lorenzetti.

    The gallery will host the Turner Prize as part of the City of Culture year.
