    A review of Hull city centre has shown there's been a fall in the number of bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs. 

    But there has been an increase in the number of cafes and fast food places since 2011. 

    The Local Data Company is behind the figures. 

    Director Matthew Hopkinson says the city centre's downturn in the number of restaurants goes against a national trend.

    Plans to build up to 82 new homes near South Cave will be discussed at a public inquiry. 

    In 2015 the application by Gladman Developments was turned down by East Riding Council due to issues with flooding and the rural landscape.

    The company has appealed against that decision.

    A fourth man has failed in his bid to sue the Catholic Church over historical abuse claims at St William's residential school in Market Weighton.

    Many victims say they will continue to fight on.

    A total of 249 men have lodged claims against the Diocese of Middlesbrough and the De La Salle Institute, which ran the home.

    Police in Hull are warning people about a scam, external in which a caller pretends to be from HM Revenue & Customs, tricking vulnerable victims into paying bogus debts and taxes using iTunes gift cards. 

    It comes after an elderly woman from the city got a phone call telling her she owed £1000 to HMRC and would be arrested unless she bought £500 worth of iTunes vouchers and tell the scammer the codes over the phone. 

    When she went to buy the cards a member of staff realised the lady had fallen victim to a scam and the police were informed.

    The famous cream telephone boxes are unique to the city of Hull. 

    But as many now use mobile phones, people stopped using them and dozens were removed. 

    However, they're making a come back around the city for the year of culture.

    A community group in Grimsby is over the moon after finding out they've been awarded almost £275,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. 

    The money will go towards creating a new community space called 'Hub in the park'. 

    The plan is to refurbish an old building in Grant Thorold Park. It will mean groups like art classes, youth clubs and toddler groups will have a new home. 

    Nathan Taylor joined me on BBC Radio Humberside breakfast, he's one of the people behind the project.

    East Yorkshire tennis player Kyle Edmund is through to the second round of the Australian Open following a straight sets win over Columbia's Santiago Giraldo 6-2 7-5 6-3.

    Despite the temperature reaching 35C, the 22 year old looked assured throughout his contest with the 91st-ranked Giraldo.  

    He will meet Pablo Carreno Busta, the Spanish 30th seed who went through after Canadian Peter Polansky retired in the fifth set.

    The local clinical commissioning group's proposal to shut the centres in Withernsea, Driffield and Hornsea has sparked protests in recent months.
