    Eve has a rare brain tumour and needs treatment called "proton beam therapy" but it's not currently funded in this country.

    The NHS decide on a case-by-case basis whether to send someone overseas. Her family will find out today if she has been selected.

    They've been fundraising in case the NHS panel refuse, external their application.

    This is the engine of Grimsby's famous trawler the Ross Tiger.

    Tenders are being invited to help conserve this fishing boat which is the country's oldest sidewinder trawler. 

    The Ross Tiger is moored alongside the Fishing heritage centre who are planning a series of events to celebrate her 60th birthday.

    Meet Gay-Yee Westerhoff, the cellist in the multi-million selling electric string quartet Bond.

    She was born in Hull and grew up in Beverley Road.

    It's just been announced that Bond will feature alongside comedian Lucy Beaumont and actress Maureen Lipman on the opening night of WOW Hull Festival at Hull City Hall on Friday 10 March.

    Works by artist Tracey Holland have been installed at Grimsby Minster, external  in an exhibition which opens this evening.

    Ordinalia is part of the Magnetic Atlas exhibition and consists of 12 maritime and railway lamps suspended within the high alter.

    Inside each lamp are looped films playing on small screens placed behind the glass.

    The Chancellor Philip Hammond has presented his first Budget to the Commons with a promise of extra spending on social care and more help for firms facing higher business rates.

    But up to 2.5 million self-employed people are set to pay more in National Insurance Contributions. 

    It's led the Labour MP for Hull North, Diana Johnson, to accuse the government of breaking a manifesto pledge:

    Northern has announced it is to run a reduced train service in preparation for industrial action planned for Monday 13 March.

    The RMT announced the walkout last month in a row over plans to bring in more driver-only-operated (DOO) trains and remove the responsibility for opening and closing train doors from guards.

    Northern says it will run about 40% of its normal timetable if the strike goes ahead.

    This is Miffy Cheng - a PhD student in chemistry at the University of Hull.

    Her research around fluorescence guided cancer surgery has been entered into a competition to be judged at Parliament, external next week. 

    Miffy was shortlisted from hundreds of applicants and her work will be judged against dozens of other scientists’ research in the only national competition of its kind.

    A man's died after being hit by a car in Hull last week. 

    The 31-year-old was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary after being involved in the crash as he crossed John Newton Way between Bransholme and KIngswood on Thursday 2 March at around 17:30.

    Police are now appealing for witnesses, external  to come forward and say they are especially interested in speaking to the driver of a small red car who may have seen the incident
