    A Lincolnshire codeword campaign to help people who feel unsafe while out on a date has now been adopted in Aberdeen.

    The campaign suggests that people go to bar staff and ask for Angela if they need help out of an awkward or worrying situation.

    The campaign was the brainchild of Hayley Childs, from Lincolnshire County Council, it has since gone viral. 

    It's drawn support from across the world, including from Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher.

    The Channcellor Philip Hammond has begun outlining his first budget this lunchtime. 

    It's thought he will say the economy has proved resilient after the Brexit referendum.

    A director and chartered financial planner in Hessle has told us she doesn't think there'll be many surprises in this afternoon's announcments.

    A man suffered serious injuries when a car being followed by police  in Grimsby early this morning crashed, external on Chelmsford Avenue.

    Both the occupants of the car were arrested on suspicion of car theft and driving offences.

    The passenger, a 31-year-old man, is in hospital in Hull with serious injuries.

    The driver, a 29-year-old man, has received treatment and is in police custody.

    One of the five gold artworks hidden in northern Lincolnshire as part of a treasure hunt will be auctioned off next week.

    The  replica Viking brooch was found by chance  in a wall by Rachel Welch from Grimsby hours after the treasure hunt began last month.

    She's now  selling it to raise money, external  for a holiday.

    It's expected to fetch up to £1,500.

    A rag and bone man wants to run a horse and cart ride on Cleethorpes promenade.

    Although you could be forgiven for thinking it's the Brit Award winner of the same name who is everywhere at the moment.

    No, I meant the bonafide old fashioned type of scrap dealer.

    Sam Norris is part of a long line of rag n bone men in the area and wants to use his horse and cart for rides for tourists.

    He's now got his Hackney Carriage driver's licence and has been talking to the highways department about his proposed route. 

    He's hoping to find out today if he'll be allowed to go ahead.

    Today's budget won't all be good news but it is thought  it will include a crackdown on 'subscription traps'

    That's where customers sign up for a free trial but then get tied up in a subscription and end up paying for it.

    Hull's Citizens Advice Bureau has welcomed this news.

    Women from East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are joining thousands of others from across the country to protest in London today over the state pension age.

    Changes to the law have meant that women who thought they could retire at 60 now face the prospect of working until they're 66.

    It's a move Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) claim has left them short-changed but the government says it has no plans for any compensation.

  17. Rail strike: Northern publishes revised timetablepublished at 09:03 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2017

    Train operator Northern has published details of its revised timetable, external which is due to operate during industrial action on Monday 13 March.

    The RMT union announced strike action last month in a dispute over plans to bring in more driver-only-operated trains.  

    Northern says it expects to run approximately 980 services, or about 40% of its normal timetable on many, but not all, of its routes in the north of England.

    All services are expected to be extremely busy and the firm's advising customers to give themselves extra time to travel and consider whether their journey is necessary.

    Richard Allan, Northern's deputy managing director, says: "We've focused our planning efforts on maintaining a train service on our busier routes between 07:00 and 19:00, and are looking to provide replacement bus services on some routes where trains won't run."

    A row has broken out about this playing field in Scunthorpe.

    North Lincolnshire Council is considering plans today that campaigners say could lead to dozens of new houses being built here.

    They want to build 122 homes on the former Brumby Hospital site but campaigners say it'll include development on greenbelt land. 

    More than 1,000 people have signed a petition against the proposal.
