    Police say a taxi driver failed to stop after a woman fell out of the cab in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    She suffered minor head injuries in the fall on Newland Avenue, Hull.

    Humberside Police are asking, external  the taxi driver to come forward to help with their inquiries.

    The City of Culture, external in Hull may be just over two months old, but already people are looking towards 2021.

    Coventry, Hereford, Paisley, Perth, Portsmouth, St Davids, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Warrington and Wells are all in the running.

    Have a look at this great project taking place, external at the Hull History Centre.

    It's honouring the former Spring Bank Zoological Gardens, which used to be home to lions, tigers, kangaroos. All sorts really!

    The zoo closed in 1861 but now people are being encouraged to recreate it out of wool:

    A new primary school could be built in Scartho.

    The Healing Multi-Academy Trust, which is working in conjunction with North East Lincolnshire Council, are asking the public, external what they think to their plans:

    A number of items worth around £3,000 have been stolen in a burglary on Cooper Lane in Laceby.

    It happened on Thursday 19 January. 

    Among the jewellery taken were bracelets, watches and necklaces.

    Two new loggerhead sea turtles are putting their flippers in the water at Hull's aquarium this morning.

    They are called Sensa and Mabouche and are just over a metre in size:

    They'll have a new home in the Endless Oceans tank.

    They were both rescued from the wild , external after being caught on fishermen’s lines in the Mediterranean.

    Police in Bridlington say they rescued a woman, external  from the water near the North Pier on Saturday.

    Two PCSOs and two Police Constables were joined by a member of the public in rescuing the woman, who was at risk of being swept out to sea due to dangerous currents.

    The woman was taken to hospital for treatment and wasn't hurt.

    I've been talking to drug workers and charities in our area, who say thousands of people have become dependent on strong painkillers and drugs.

    It is being described as a 'hidden epidemic'. Many people receive pills like diazepam from their GP, but others are also turning to the internet and to drug dealers.
