  3. Councillor speaks out on missing patient recordspublished at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Vicky Johnson
    BBC Look North

It's been revealed information about missing referral data at hospitals in Scunthorpe, Goole and Grimsby only came to light because a council scrutiny panel used legal powers to make it public.

More than 100 patients have been left waiting for hospital appointments due to the issue.

The error means that some GPs' requests for consultations at hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole have not been recorded.

The interim Chief Executive of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) has admitted the organisation kept news of missing referral data quiet for months as they tried to find an administrative solution.

    Quote Message

I took the decision to invoke legislation to require the chief executive of NLAG and the chief officer of the clinical commissioning group to attend scrutiny because I was sufficiently concerned that this needed to be discussed, that patients needed to be represented and that really important questions needed to be asked of these people, and that needed to be in a public environment."
