    More than 100 patient referrals have gone missing at North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

    The trust which looks after hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole is asking people to get in touch to ensure their records are up to date. 

    The missing referrals only apply to people who were seen by their GP, dentist or opticians before October 2016 for a first appointment with a consultant but does not include patients who are waiting for follow up appointments or those referred for scans or X-rays.

    The union behind yesterday's strike on Northern rail says there could be more industrial action in our area.

    The RMT wants a guarantee over the future role of guards, while the government and rail companies support more driver-only-operated trains.

    Northern Rail and the union have called for talks to try and reach an agreement.

    A public inquiry is being held today at County Hall in Beverley over proposals to build 150 holiday homes on the site of the former Allerthorpe park golf course near Pocklington.

    A woman from Scunthorpe has convinced 70 councils to change or review their policy on toilets for people with severe disabilities.

    At the moment, building regulations mean new public building projects only have to consider including changing places, which are bathrooms with changing tables and hoists.

    But Lorna Fillingham, whose daughter can't use a standard toilet, wants the law to be changed to make it mandatory.

  6. Investigation after man hurt in possible police pursuit in Grimsby published at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2017

    The circumstances surrounding a collision in Grimsby involving Humberside Police which left a man seriously injured is to be investigated by the police watchdog.

    The collision happened at about 04:00 on Wednesday 8 March when a black Vauxhall Insignia hit a wall at the junction of Chelmsford Avenue and Littlefield Lane.

    Initial indications are that officers had been following the car, according to Humberside Police.

    The man involved in the collision remains in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.    

    The Independent Police Complaints Commission is  appealing for witnesses, external  to come forward.

    Parents are being advised to take steps to reduce the chance of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) for Safer Sleep Week, external .

    SIDS is the sudden and unexplained death of a baby where no cause is found and it's claimed the lives of 266 babies in the Yorkshire and Humber region between 2005 and 2014.

    The good news is that there are  steps parents can take to help reduce the chance, external  of it happening.

    The East Riding and Hull Safe Sleeping Steering Group advises parents that the safest place for their baby to sleep is a crib or cot in a room with them for the first six months.

    A Hull Labour councillor has told BBC Radio Humberside he disagrees with the Home Office over whether local authorities have enough space for more unaccompanied child refugees.

    Phil Webster says while the Home Office claims there isn't enough space, Hull hasn't been asked to take any - despite the city being willing and able to re-home youngsters in need.

    An appeal by Gladman Developments to build 130 houses on land east of Little Wold Lane in South Cave has been rejected by the Planning Inspectorate.

    Campaigners had regarded this as an important test case for the soundness of the East Riding Local Plan as the proposed development fell outside of earmarked building land.

    Humber Coastguard's search and rescue helicopter isn't being grounded following an accident involving the same type of helicopter in Ireland.

    The Sikorsky S 92 aircraft, which is based at Humberside Airport, had safety tests in January.

    The Maritime and Coastguard Agency says it's waiting for an investigation into the crash in Ireland, but says the helicopter is continuing to operate as normal.

    An eight-year-old girl was approached by a man on Second Avenue in Grimsby this morning, police have said.

    There's definitely plenty of  interest in a plan to build 150 caravans and lodges at Allerthorpe Park Golf Club near Pocklington, with many people attending the first day of a public inquiry.

    Some residents and councillors are strongly opposed to the proposals.

    The developers are now appealing against a decision to deny planning permission.

    The hearing is expected to last for three days.

    Shakespeare's Richard III is being staged in May at Hull Truck Theatre as part of City of Culture and it's been announced actor Mat Fraser will play the title role, external .

    The family of an East Yorkshire farmer left in debt after being cleared of grievous bodily harm  has been critical of the legal system. 

    An online appeal's now been launched to help pay 83-year-old Kenneth Hugill's £30,000 legal defence fees. 

    Last week, he was found not guilty  after shooting a man on his land at Wilberfoss, near York, who he believed was about to run him over.

  17. Fight to prevent East Yorkshire caravan parkpublished at 10:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2017

    Villagers of Allerthorpe in the Yorkshire Wolds say they've raised £20,000 in their bid to fight a legal battle to stop developers building a caravan park.

    Local residents say the siting of 150 caravans would double the size of their community.

    Developers Turnwalk Ltd and Park Leisure 2000 had initially applied to locate more than 200 caravans on a former golf course before scaling back the proposal. 

    Arguments for and against the latest proposals are due to be heard by an independent planning inspector appointed by the government.

  18. Police appeal over indecent exposure in Goolepublished at 10:23

    Police want to trace a man who exposed himself to a group of young girls in Goole, external  on Monday.

    It happened at about 16:30 yesterday on Fifth Avenue/St John's Court.

    The man is described as white, aged 40-50, of medium build, short dark hair and he was wearing sun glasses. 

    He's reported to have been riding a black race-style bike.
