The news that Dorothy Perkins is to close down at the St Stephen's centre comes after the recent announcement that Zara is also to leave.

However, centre manager Jim Harris says it's not unusual for brands to change where they want to be based:

    Quote Message

St Stephen's is now 10-years-old, believe it or not, and lots of our shop leases are up for renewal. Obviously the retail world changes in 10 years, some brands come and go. Listeners will remember Pumpkin Patch and Jane Norman - who were big in 2007 and we lost along the way. It's the same with other brands."

Several homes and businesses there were flooded as huge waves breached the sea walls.

Some people say warnings didn't arrive until after the flooding had started:

People who usually get free bus travel in East Yorkshire are now being asked to pay on some routes after the amount of council cash given to subsidised bus services was cut.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council says it's made the change because of a cut in government funding, but says it only affects 4% of routes - and some bookable bus transport is now available.

However, some bus users say they're being made to feel forgotten by the reduction in funding for subsidised bus services:
