A Y shaped groyne, made with 12,000 tonnes of rock will be put in. It's the most effective shape for the tidal movements around the area, and is the most cost efficient in terms of long-term maintenance.

The remaining existing timber groynes along the North Promenade will also be refurbished as part of the scheme.
