  1. Resurfacing work begins on A63published at 16:33 British Summer Time 9 May 2017

    Resurfacing work has started along nine miles of the A63 in Hull.

    The first section is on the eastbound carriageway between North Cave to South Cave. At the weekend work begins to resurface a second section between South Cave to Welton.

    During this work the A63 eastbound carriageway will be fully closed for three weekends from 19:00 Friday until approximately 06:00 Monday for the following dates:

    • Friday 12/05/17 to Monday 15/05/17
    • Friday 19/05/17 to Monday 22/05/17
    • Friday 02/06/17 to Monday 05/06/17

    An ex-teacher nicknamed "the Cookie Lady" fed homemade biscuits laced with cannabis to four pupils, a court has heard.

    Lesley Collins told the two girls and two boys "I'm your nana" before dishing out the "hash cakes" from a knitted bag, The Grimsby Telegraph reports.

    The 61-year-old, of Bentley Street, Cleethorpes, admitted supplying cannabis at Grimsby Crown Court on 24 March.

    She was handed a six-month suspended jail term and 10 days' rehabilitation when she was sentenced on Monday.

    Work is under way on some new murals in Hull to commemorate the city's fishing heritage. 

    Have a look at this video, it's one of two paintings funded by City of Culture on Hessle Road.

    It'll feature those who worked in the fishing industry. 

    The artists behind the project hope that people will recognise friends, family or local characters who'll appear on the mural. 

    It'll take a fortnight to complete.

    49-year-old Renata Antczak of Beamsley Way, Hull has been missing now for two weeks.

    She was last seen around 13:00 on Tuesday 25 April on foot in the Kingswood area of Hull. 

    Police say it is out of character for her not to be in touch with her family.

    They would also like to speak to anyone who saw a black Mercedes car with the registration WF13 PCX that she was using that morning.

    East Riding Council's annual compost giveaway starts today.

    Around 5,000 bags will be handed out. All the compost being given away has been recycled from the garden and food waste in the area.

    The council say its their way to say thank you to the residents for recycling their rubbish.

    Police are still trying to find 15-year-old Jordan Petty.

    As a precaution the head teacher has decided to evacuate the school.

    The Big Malarkey Festival will bring together writers, illustrators, performers and musicians to East Park in Hull to celebrate children's literature.
