    Patients, staff and visitors to Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital are now banned from smoking anywhere on the site.

    It's hoped it'll improve health and reduce the risks associated with passive smoking.

    Four GP practices have written to the East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group to express their concerns over the way the Urgent Care Review was dealt with.

    Earlier this year a decision was made to close some minor injuries units in the East Riding and create urgent care centres.

    The doctors have concerns over how the consultation was carried out but in a statement the East Riding CCG have told Radio Humberside that they carried out a robust public consultation which resulted in the best options for everyone in the East Riding.

    Humberside Police saw the biggest increase in reports of sex crimes against children which involved the internet of any force in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

    They were up from 125 in the 2015 to 226 a year later.

    The figures are from a Freedom of Information request by the NSPCC.

    The charity's associate head of online safety, Sonja Jutte, says there must be clear action on internet safety.

    Tickets for the benefit concert in aid of those affected by the Manchester bombing have sold out in less than 20 minutes.

    Ariana Grande will be joined by Justin Bieber and Coldplay at the One Love Manchester show at Old Trafford cricket ground on Sunday.

    The One Love Manchester show will raise money for those affected by the blast that killed 22 people including five from Yorkshire.

    Proceeds will go to the We Love Manchester emergency fund, which has been set up by Manchester City Council, in conjunction with the British Red Cross.

    Organisers expect at least £2m to be raised from the event.

  9. Motorcyclist dies after A18 crashpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    A motocyclist from the Grimsby area has died following a collision on the A18 near Louth yesterday.

    Emergency services were called to the scene at Barton Street, near Ludborough at 16:45 after a blue Suzuki motorbike collided with a Renault Clio.

    The rider of the bike, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital in Grimsby where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

    Police say the road was reopened at about 22.00. There's an appeal for witnesses.

    A 47 year-old man has died after his car left the road on Bishop Burton Road near Cherry Burton.

    He was travelling towards Cherry Burton when it left the road and came to a stop in a ditch shortly before 18:00 on Wednesday 31 May.

    Police are appealing for witnesses.

    An exhibition showcasing a lifetime of artwork by world famous Yorkshire artist David Hockney has become the most visited at London's Tate gallery.

    On average more than 4,000 people visited the gallery each day between February and May to see the biggest ever compilation of work by the Bradford-born artist.

    The work spanned six decades and featured more than 200 pieces, including many that were made in East Yorkshire.

    The work of an amateur photographer from Hull who captured more than 6,000 images of life in the city's fishing community has gone on display.

    Dr Alec Gill started taking photos on Hessle Road in the 1970s and 100 of his images are on display at Hull History Centre as part of the City of Culture programme.

    British Steel says it's taken on more than 200 extra workers in the 12 months since a major re-brand of its sites in Scunthorpe and York.

    The Scunthorpe site - and thousands of workers - had been at risk when previous owners Tata put it up for sale.

    It was bought out by an investment firm and relaunched under the British Steel brand exactly a year ago today.
