Hull City Council say the hoses and fire extinguishers in the building were removed because they were vandalised repeatedly and they became a hazard.

This was done in agreement with the fire service locally and follows guidance by the Local Government Association.

They also say the wall paper in the hallways is not flammable and they've visited all high rise buildings to reassure people about the safety procedures in place and extensive checks have been made.
