    Politicians and business leaders from across the North say it's unfair that London gets the lion's share of transport funding.

    The issue is being discussed at a rail summit today, where many are calling on the government to commit to a new high speed rail line from Hull to Liverpool.

    Yesterday the former Chancellor George Osborne said there should be a high speed rail link between Hull and Liverpool.

    Black cab drivers from Hull have taken people with dementia on a special trip to the seaside.

    The Hull Hackney Carriage Association decided to take people for free after the drivers completed a dementia awareness course.

    Around a dozen taxis took 50 people to Bridlington this morning.

    North Lincolnshire Council have said that there will be no bin collections on Tuesday 5 September, due to the Tour of Britain cycling race passing through the area.

    Bins will instead be collected on Saturday 9 September, with the exception of the burgundy bin which will be emptied on Monday 11 September.

    Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason is to see a third specialist on Monday to see if he will be able to return from the fractured skull he suffered in January.

    The once-capped England international, 26, had to have surgery after a clash of heads with Chelsea's Gary Cahill.

    "It's a difficult situation," head coach Leonid Slutsky told BBC Radio Humberside.

    "Ryan is a big hero for me, but now the question is not just about football but about his life. It's very serious."

    Slutsky added: "One doctor is saying one thing and another saying another, so he will get a third opinion on Monday.

    "He will have a decision about his future, if he needs an operation or not.

    "He wants to play but he must make a decision not only about himself but also his family. It's more than only football."

    A man has been taken to hospital after falling from the roof of a Chinese restaurant in Grimsby town centre.

    An air ambulance landed in Cartergate car park at around 09:45 as paramedics attended to the 60-year-old who fell from the roof of the Golden Regency restaurant, in Old Market Place, onto a flat platform below.

    The man, who is associated with the restaurant, was reportedly carrying out repairs at the time of the incident.

    Incident in Grimsby

    Emergency services were parked in the car park of the old Grange Wintringham Solicitors building off West St Marys Gate, with three fire and rescue appliances at the scene along with a hydraulic platform, two ambulances and the air ambulance.

    He was lifted down, conscious and breathing, before being taken to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital for further treatment.

    Police are looking for witnesses after a man had his mobile phone stolen outside a bed shop on Alexander Road in Grimsby.

    The incident happened yesterday afternoon when the man was approached by another man who demanded his Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

    The victim refused, after which there was a scuffle and threats were made. He then handed over the phone but sustained cuts and bruises.

    Police are concerned about Gemma Reeves, aged 18,who was last seen at her home in Beverley yesterday evening.

    She left her home on Coltman Avenue with her young child in a pram and has not been seen since.

    Gemma is 5ft 6" tall with long dark hair. She was wearing jeans, flat black shoes and pushing a dark-coloured pram.

    Regulations for private car park operators need to be tougher, according to an East Yorkshire MP.

    Sir Greg Knight says he's heard "horror stories" from constituents who've been ripped off by parking fines.

    He is now calling for a statutory code of conduct to ensure that landowners are fair and reasonable when issuing fines to motorists parking on their land.
